Tonight at Mass, I asked everyone to pray for the three missing soldiers, for their families who must surely be having the worst day of their lives, for their fellow soldiers and their commanders who are tearing their hair out to find these men, and for everyone who serves the nation in harm's way. There was a loud Amen!
Afterward, the father of a graduating senior (this was a baccalaureate Mass) came up and thanked me for doing that. He was a retired, 30-year Army veteran whose own son has done three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was so happy that someone remembered these men, and that it happened on a university campus. As we finished talking, I thanked him for his service to the nation. I felt pretty humble in the presence of this fellow. Surprisingly, someone else stopped me on the way out and also said thank you.
So, MaryAnn, I am happy once more to have been on the same page with you. God bless you for this posting.

Thank you for doing that, Bob.
I, too, cannot imagine what everyone involved is going through - these three guys, their families, and their fellow Soldiers.

I've been thinking about these guys all night too MaryAnn, this is one of the worst things troops on the ground are afraid of. Is it alright if I post the speach you gave for the panel?

This is their worst nightmare, I know. I got up this morning and a couple of times during the night hoping to hear some positive developments.
As with every abduction, time is not on their side.
Sean, I see you posted that piece from our panel. I now see that I actually spoke in a somewhat coherent manner, so yes, sure it's alright.

Prayers ongoing for all our troops and their families.
We held a prayer and candle gathering in SA online at 6pm Pacific. Will be doing it again tonight, for as long as the need is there.
Bless them all. ^j^
