i remember the fence wrought iron fence at the church... the entire top was filled with chains of thousands of oragami paper cranes from japanese schoolchildren... the bird of hope... and I remember the pictures and messages -- thousands of them - taped to the fence... and messages with pictures begging for information on lost loved ones... first they asked if anyone had seen their loved one... then, weeks later, they were asking who had seen or spoken to them last... they wanted to know... I have been to GZ 5 or 6 times from 2001 through 2004 and have never been there without tears. thanks for reminding me of the bears.
