Liberal and Conservative are terms no longer connected with political reality. The political spectrum of left-right is essentially a false one. On the far left is communism, in which the state owns everything; on the far right(the opposite) is fascism, in which the state owns everything. The opposites are the same condition of state control and submissive population. The real spectrum is from total state control at one end to a state of anarchy at the other end, and with liberal constitutional democracy near the middle. The reality is very different. All men tend towards power and wealth; there are few who will not sacrifice something for it, many who will sacrifice anything for it and some who sacrifice everything for it. If we really wanted to get a revolution moving in this country, we could do it by starting a genuine grass-roots movement to nationalize all natural resources, including oil, timber, gas, minerals, metals, etc., return the wealth of the land to the people by taking it out of the hands of private corporations. Of course, this will never happen. The alliance of military power with vast financial resources is an unbeatable combination. Sometimes a person has to bend in order not to break. i want to survive a free man no matter what happens in this country and in the world. No one can take my freedom from me, only i can give it up and this is not going to happen. There is no longer anything about this world that i want so there is nothing the world can tempt me--not wealth, not security, not power...that is the choice, freedom or power. |

...so, what "clif" is saying is that Paul Craig Roberts, and Alex Jones, are lying, and citing irrelevant or erroneous information, apparently in order to appease "liberals," and the non-existent "liberal media" and "liberal" courts. |

oh yes and i must comment on the raids being used against "largely innocent and non-threatening" individuals: if they were innocent then the lawsuits for violating their civil rights would be off the hook. and i have not been to a search warrant on a crackhouse yet where guns, mainly stolen, were not present...again, the blanket stereotyping is reducing your credibility. Now that being said you turn your article as one story, but it is actually two stories...the illegal confiscation of guns from lawful citizens...this I am completely against, again completely against. Check out who initiates the illegal confiscation of guns...this was mainly the liberal democrats in charge of those jurisdictions...this nation can expect more of these communistic measures being implemented under the democratic party being in control and hopefully we do not get a full fledged commie like Hillary in the WH. Read the communist manifesto, then look at all the legislation the liberal democrats have implemented over the years. |

geez alex i love the blanket generalization used to characterize our SWAT teams and police...i am a twenty year Army and Army Reserve officer, i am extremely conservative...pro states rights as opposed to federalism/one world government...but more importantly i am a detective in my ninth year with a major law enforcement agency...i see first hand that drugs are over 90 percent related to most criminal activity in burglaries, batteries, shootings, murders, carjackings, et cetera...you act like there are a bunch of nice people just minding their own business smoking a little weed now and then...YOU ALL NEED TO WAKE UP!!! SWAT Teams normally hit drug houses due to the known precedent off drugs and guns being closely related...I have seen this first hand. Stop using anti-government rhetoric to blanket the police, especially at the state and local level. I will let you know I am against one world government policies, but what you really need to focus on are the Courts which continually let the slime of the earth back out on the streets over and over again until they escalate into committing increasingly violent crimes. I am also very pro gun and pro rights for our citizens and yes I am concerned with one world government policies especially of the liberals, federal reserve, and moderate republicans in name only. |

Why do people like ' Liberals Are Taking Over the A' bother to post on here? Obviously too stupid to actually read the article. |

How dare the police equip & protect themselves while engaing well armed criminals. In officer/ deputy is killed in the line of duty every 72 hours in the US. Is this site founded by the ACLU? It amazes me that this mentality still exists. Ask the old lady who cant out of her house during the day becuase there are 10-12 dope dealers selling their wares on the corner. Please dont tell me that by legalizing drugs were all better off. I woudlent want my surgeon or airplane pilot smoking a bowl before they started their work. So police officers that are well armed I comend you and carry on the battle my warriors... |

Hey all... |

Thank you Shirley. I read your letter to the editor, and I must admit, it was not only courageous, but right on target. It is so important, but yet hazardous, to try to inform the day to day sheeple of what is going on around them. Most have the natural desire to want to deny that they cannot trust their own government. Unfortunately, as we both know, the sad truth is we cannot. I wish you the best both for the present and future. Please hang tough, we are slowly but surly maling progress...I think! Take care. |

Brilliant history lesson. well done aussidawg |

Anonymous, you are buying into their rhetoric that stared way back yonder in the early 1900's, starting with Harry Anslinger. Drug dealers? Kindof like the Miller Brewing Co., Hiram Walker, Phillip Morris? People that sell marijuana are drug dealers too, but what they happen to deal is illegal per our CURRENT legal system, so, does that make them worse? ALL drug laws were started as a tool to discriminate against a certain minority, ie. marijuana was outlawed because it made the Mexica laborers crazy, opium because it made Chinese men rape white women, cocaine because although it made black laborers work better it allowed them a way to seduce white women. Opiate containing drugs were legal until 1925 in this country. You could go to your local drug store and buy cough syrup that contained a combination of heroin and barbiturate. Drugs were prohibited in general at the same time alcohol was, and the prohibition of both were the results of the Christian Temperence Movement. Drugs were kept illegal by accident when Prohibition was suspended, and their prohibition was eventually continued by spreading false information about their effects on people (Harry Anslinger was the government's propagandist and used Hearst Newspapers as a propaganda source.) The only reason drugs remain illegal is not to protect your health, but to keep the profit margin at around 1700^. Why do you think the opium crop has increased in Afganistan? Because the government makes a fortune off of illegal opium, that's why. The raw opium is processed into heroin by a "middleman" country, which in the case of Afganistan happens to be Turkey, one of our big allies in the war on terror. Turkey proccesses the raw opium into heroin and with the help of the CIA and MI-6, distributes this heroin in the UK and U.S. at huge profits. Turkey uses the money they make from drugs to buy arms. Who do they buy arms from? The U.S. military-industrial complex such as Martin/Lockheed, Boeing, Grumman, Raytheon, etc. Further, the CIA and Britians MI-6 make huge profits for their respective governments from the huge profits generate by keeping drugs illegal. I suggest you read How Money Works by Drugwar.com. Again, the drug war has absolutely nothing to do with our government protecting us from the health problems and crime caused by ilegal drugs, and everything to do with subverting your Constitutional right, and huge amounts of revenue for both our government and the military-industrai complex. |

get ready for the men in black uniforms to come knocking your door down and demanding you hand over your guns and shoot to kill if you don't i'll be taking guns from warm dead hands |

I want to know what it is going to take to wake the rest of the sheep in this heard we call america up? How many times must our rights violated? How many young men and women have to die, serving this tyrannical monster? What is it really going to take to convince the rest of this country we have lost our god given rights, and are soon to be nothig more than slave to the eliete!? I am willing to DIE for the freedoms we have lost! I will not stand by while we are are all turned into brainless fodder for the the eliete to feed off of! Now more than ever we as a people need to band together to start takeing back what is wrightfully ours! We need to set up our malitias again! WE MUST start locally! Organize and educate! The government did a wonderfull job of makeing malitias seem like a bunch of redneck hicks with guns! We need to change this perception of what malitias stand for! Protesting for the most part falls on def ears. We need action with serious consiquences for thoes who have stripped us of our freedom! I may be alittle over the top to some but I have seen alot of this shit first hand, my father is a disabled vieatnam vet who at 19 yrs old was president Johnsons body guard, one of the youngest decorated green bs and was injured in battle. He now is unemployed living with me and only recieves 200.00 a month from this fucked up government! We are now at a point in history where we either do something or loose everything! So please tell me what is it going to take to wake the sheeple of this country up!? |

I may leave earth in a body bag, but at least I'll leave it a free man my friends. |

Thank you Henry. If you know people to stand with and by me---I need it. |

I have to commend the comment from aussiedog, you couldn't have said it any better. |
|
That's unbelievable, and great letter by the way. I think I now remember your story from the show. |
|
Henry, |
|
Shirley, what part of the US are you talking about? Sorry about what happened. It really is a criminal system. |
|
Perhaps it is redundancy that I add to the fine comments already made here; I shall nonetheless do so. I have a question later in this text. |
|
Do others here feel that we're actually now in a new American Revolution, that it has already started? |
|
im printing 100 copies of this article, along with web sites and a plee that whoever reads this to make as many copies as they can and do the same.Maybe if enough people see this something can be done! Its the best way I can think of to do my job as a patriotic citizen of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! |

SWAT teams are a direct result of the war on drugs, or, described more accurately, the first war on our Constitutional and individual rights. The drug war has inroduced the concept of asset forfeiture (violates 5th Amendment regarding due process), illegal searches and seizures (violates 4th Amendament), mandatory lengthy prison sentences (violates 8th Amendment), plus, violates the premise set by the Declartion of Independance which states that people have the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness by restricting the individual and personal comsumption, in the privacy of their own home, of certain substances based of the perception of morality by others. As PCR states, many people have been killed in raids by SWAT teams due to either mistaken identity or overzealous officers. Further, thousands, if not millions of lives have been ruined and our prisons overcrowded by arrests and imprisonment of nonviolent and otherwise law abiding and productive citizens for victimless drug use or possession charges. Allowing the recreational use of alcohol and tobacco, both of which are addictive drugs, and allowing their sale for corporate profit while prohibiting the use of other drugs is hypocritical. In addition, the drug war has forced chronic pain sufferers, glaucoma sufferers, and others to suffer needlessly because the drugs they need for relief are so strictly controlled or prohibited. Further, drug dependance is a disease, not a crime. In addition to domestic problems caused by the drug war, we have invaded the countries of others with our military and gone in and sparyed and erradicated the crops of others in other countries and by doing so, disregarded their sovergn rights. This war must be stopped, and our prisons returned to use for criminals that harm others rather than themselves. This country survived the first 150 years of existance without drug laws. It can do so now too. I'm neither condoning nor condemning the use of drugs, as that, in my opinion is a personal choice. However, I am condemning the drug war. This is a war on individual liberty and our Constitutional rights, not drugs, and as such, has spread beyond the enforcement of drug laws. |

Yes,isn't it something to wake up to.Unless you |
|
Then watch SWAT be called on the demonstration, seen as a "threat". |
|
i think it starts by just speaking out your concerns in public in a serious way. then more will be introduced to it |
|
Propose solutions. The only way to change things is to come up with other options. Do not think that your idea will not be heard. Voice your opinion, not just your anger. One option is to limit the number of swat team members based on population levels. Combine smaller districts into one swat team that would cover all those districts. Just a thought. |
|
Good article ! I'm so sick of the abuse, our government and our police are dangerous and out of control. |
|
I cound not agree more with this article. I have been saying this for years. |
