I suspect you're right about dentists being largely motivated by money.

I've been looking for a new dentist ever since my current dentist announced that she was "moving away from the NHS" (i.e. going private).

Her latest money-making scam is to suggest that I really need to have my teeth "professionally" cleaned every three months.

Unfortunately most of our local dentists are no longer accepting new NHS patients. May all their private patients suffer from chronic halitosis!
