I've head the NYT website has good details on what is going to be broadcast, and on what channel, in the US market.

I've done a fair amount of the "set my recorder and plug my ears" bit for women's basketball so my wife and I can watch games at (our) night.

As long as NBC doesn't clog up their channels with taped human interest backstories over heartfelt piano music, while ignoring stuff that's going on live, I'm okay with their skeds.
