Dumbness always offends me but the Holocaust poster offended me most of all. This was a boundary that should not have been crossed (and I posted about it this morning).
FYI, you might want to check out THIS. It is a sociological study on why people cling to delusional beliefs despite evidence to the contrary.

You mean like SoBeale clinging to her beliefs about gun control despite all evidence to the contrary? Her belief that the benevolent government will cut costs & increase efficiency, despite a mountain of evidence showing that they do the opposite.
Or perhaps her claims about guns in bars, which were proven 100% false.
SoBeale exemplifies "delusional."

"Morans" was intentionally spelled wrong.
Get A Brain, Moran.
Any other spelling errors I write off to not enough coffee.

Another thing about that photo that I love is the empty space where the "up to 2 million" angry teabaggers stood.
Or maybe there were only 50,000as claimed on Fox News
Or maybe there weren't even enough to fill half the West Lawn at the capitol, as this photo makes clear

rewinn - I heard claims of ~ 10,000 for this protest. I think you are confused with the claims of many more people being there on the 9/12 protest. This protest was organized in less than a week.

Having not read this blog as long as some, I can't issue a point by point rebuttal of mike w's ad hominem attack.
However...
'Her belief that the benevolent government will cut costs & increase efficiency, despite a mountain of evidence showing that they do the opposite.'
This is a statement that depends the 'evidence' once chooses to study. I assume (admittedly dangerous) that mike makes this statement about health care.
Well, some very good writers have noted that Medicare Advantage actually costs the government /more/ than Medicare. It also costs those who receive it more than Medicare, and those who receive it are far more likely to suffer a refusal to pay for treatment. In the one quantifiable area studied, the government IS less costly and more efficient than private business and also provides a better product to boot.
The one thing I've never seen, online or in print, is a conservative explanation of why we should assume the benevolence and competence of American business when they have managed to drive the US into an economic disaster every time they've been given an unrestricted free hand.
Usually they recite Econ 101 by rote, without appearing to really understand what it means.

At least the spelling thing made me laugh today; very well said in a few words and misspellings (ha). We do cling to beliefs and have a hard time facing truth even when it is proven to be true.. I know that I tend to ignore those things that "fly in the face", and I have to force myself to read and admit that PERHAPS there is a chance that the writer has a good point and acknowledge merit.
But, you are in line with my ideologies, so I am happy to read what you have written and snicker a little. thanks. I love your site...

So the Coop sided with the democrats yesterday! Oh, that's right. He is a democrat. Well congratulations anyway. He was quoted in the Times article today. Something about not killing the bill today in hopes of improving it tomorrow.
Meanwhile on the dark side...
Lieberman appears on FOX to demand answers. What a dick.

Dusty C. - Typical. Call me stupid because you can't make a coherent argument.
SoBeale - Still clinging to your delusional beliefs after they've been proven false?
