Reminiscent of the CNN Rock the Vote debate in 2003 where CNN told a college student to ask a PC vs Mac question to 'lighten up' the event.

Oh, I had forgotten about that! Yes, it's very similar ... IIRC that questioner also had some more serious things to ask, and CNN picked the question for them, right?

I think throwing a cake question to "lighten the event" is bad, but finding an specific candidate's hater to throw a "gotcha" question is even worse.
