Gravatar Considering that they used a picture of the blown up Murrah Building as a backdrop for one speaker (nice touch to add to the fear they want us to feel), maybe they realized that they didn't have the Army Medical Center but a nice lovely building which would be a good backdrop -- you know, show the folks how nice McCain must be.

Gravatar Don't forget this one.

Gravatar The biggest permission not being granted?

How about Palin not giving any interviews now, or maybe forever?

"A senior McCain campaign official advises that, despite the gaggle of requests and pressure from the media, Gov. Sarah Palin won't submit to a formal interview anytime soon. She may take some questions from local news entities in Alaska, but until she's ready -- and until she's comfortable -- which might not be for a long while -- the media will have to wait. The campaign believes it can effectively deal with the media's complaints, and their on-the-record response to all this will be: "Sarah Palin needs to spend time with the voters."

Rock star? Yep. I just can't figure out if she's Milli or Vanilli.

Gravatar "Permission not granted".

we should make that the McGrumpy's campaign epitaph. Sit in the Oval Office? "Permission not granted".

Gravatar The Republican Party seems to have a history of using rock and country music without permission of the artists, going back to the Reagan campaign's attempt to co-opt "Born in the U.S.A." in 1984 (Springsteen dropped a large flea-with-briefcase in their ears about that.)

On the other hand, the Clinton campaign seemed to have the backing of Fleetwood Mac to use "Don't Stop."

Many musicians are most emphatically not Republican or conservative, though they might be libertarian.

I suppose the Republicans were afraid that if they used their natural music, Victor Laszlo would appear and lead the singing of "La Marseillaise."

heh. How about Pat Boone? He's their biggest fan.

Gravatar Actually according to DailyKos, "Unfortunately for the Wilson sisters, "as the song is licensed for public performance under a blanket fee," and since the McCain campaign paid those fees to use the song, there is nothing Heart can do about its use."

McCain did pay the fees to use the song as required. No Copyright violation after all. Do you research these claims?
