I think I know the difference -- Cindy and John McCain were both born into families of privilege, they only know special treatment and therefore they aren't elistist. Anyone who was born into a more humble situation and then attained great wealth and its privilege is elistist because for them it is something different and special. It isn't what they were born into, they weren't to the manor born, as it were. And the whole elistist/not elistist thing is so much BS. (Of course the MSM pundits want so much to be considered to the manor born and entitled to privilege that they can't see the truth about themselves.)

Gravatar Beale I once stood in line behind Matt Kisber at Dilliards in the Green Hills Mall back in the late 90's and watched him charge over $1,000 in clothes for him and his son on one of his credit cards. I cringe when I see people run up those kinds of credit card bills even though I know they can pay for them.

Gravatar Elitist: Yes or No Bonus Round!

Beyond the candidates and families, someone gets to speak for regular America, and other people in the media decide who gets to do that.

Guess which media org can't see the irony in " this.

Gravatar "Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild calls Obama an “elitist” on CNN"

Gravatar It wasn't even CNN. It was Fox News (big surprise). And they couldn't even find an American robber baron's wastrel offspring, like an Astor, Rockefeller or Morgan.
