Thank you for this SB. When I heard the report from Tuesday, I too, thought of McCain and every other kook who says now is the time to withdraw our troops by 2011 since everything is so hunky-dory. I even heard one pundit exclaim, "Even George W. Bush has seen the light!"

Great! The surge has worked! I feel so much better now. At least we didn't wreck their country. The truth is we did not only unleash a very dangerous set of forces, we have given them the common mission of expelling the foreign aggressors. Us! If Muqtada Al Sadr is really the guy in charge, maybe we should get the fuck out! (Reference latest report on the cease-fire.) It seems like the most progressive step in stabilizing Iraq to me.
