Thanks for the video. I had just read the NY Times account. Information such as this on congressional record helps to get the word out that a lot of Americans bet on the wrong horse.
It seems unconscionable that Koop was instructed not to speak about the AIDS epidemic, yet today it stands as historical record. Abstinence only? Rugged dogmatism. If fornication is sin, then it is wrong to educate concerning contraceptives. This flies in the face of science on the surface. Stem cell research is not murder, it's about saving and improving lives. Health care in prisons? We don't even have health care for the homeless. It's not a country club. Meanwhile, Arnold has promised to improve prison conditions out west. Not happening too quickly. A federal judge is expected to put caps on inmate populations. This will only cause overcrowding in jails.
It's going to be a long, hard-fought battle. Hat's off to Dr. Carmona.
