Putting these things off to the future is such a Republican way of doing things.
But it's not nearly as R as the frame game: Wealthy pundits and candidates don't tell us how much money tax cuts save them, but can be counted on to predictably describe contractual future pension, healthcare and Social Security obligations to working- and middle-class Americans as "expensive promises we* can't afford to keep".
*What do you mean "we", rich man?
