It was embarrassing enough to have Leader Envy for Britons over much of Tony Blair's term. (PS: This is what straight talk sounds like.)
In a generation of upheaval and tumult I guess Putin is OK--has his weak points, of course. But we're not supposed to be jealous of Russia for him.

Our President is completely divorced from normal give-and-take respect and consideration. In truth, he's more like a bloody-aproned butcher handling a carcass, no feeling, no empathy for the creature, no sympathy. "Hey, once you're dead, you're dead."
That old Republican Neo-Con boogieman about a ticking time bomb? What the hell is Bush but a walkin' talkin' time bomb himself, keyed up and ready to blow us all into Kingdom Come with not a care in the world about how we feel about being obliterated.
