Well, dear Tom, I was damn happy to see you at the Paper Bullets show last night. Glad you put off the hiatus that long.
Do you really have to go on the Lipitor? Are there alternatives? Is your cholesterol really that bad? Are you living on bacon or something? Just kidding... Mine's bad too but I got it down far enough to dodge the pharmaceutical bullet. My HDL is good enough to make up for the LDL, apparently. I credit my high consumption of olive oil - I even wash with olive oil soap, maybe I'm absorbing it through my skin.
It is really fucked up that you have to make these life decisions based on the necessity for health insurance. I am in a similar situation - there's some irregularities in my mammograms so the "girls" have to get their pictures taken every six months. A friend of mine is being treated for breast cancer right now so I take it seriously. It's criminal that a country like ours doesn't have universal health care.
