speak to me

Gravatar I didn't know you could do all that with the Google, Tom. I've already got several Gmail accounts, so I'll have to check it out.

And you're right about how scary it is that one company can essentially "own" all of this data. Hopefully, Google sticks to its motto.

Gravatar google has pwned me for a while now. i love it and don't care. i mean, most of my data is online anyhow ...

Gravatar You even store your documents and whatever you write on google?

Gravatar Google Pwns me. I think he still hasn't noticed the typo. Psssttttttttt.

Gravatar good god joey, that was an intended reference to common ("1337") internet slang used by 12 year olds in chat rooms. do your research, n00b! oh and stfu!

Gravatar Well, I still don't know what it means. Or, "1337" either. And I'm not 12!!!!!

Gravatar must... resist... obvious... retorts...

Gravatar You DO realize you're making fun of Joey for NOT ebing a geek, right?

Nerd.

Gravatar no no no. now i'm making fun of joey for saying she can't match wits with a 12 year old.

and YOU have no room to throw stones in that glass house over there!

Gravatar No, no no! That's not what I was saying. YOU said something about slang used by 12 year olds in chat rooms. And I was just pointing out that I am niether of those (12 OR in a chat room). Or a geek! Hahahaa. (I can match wits with 'em. I mean, sheesh.... they are the mentality I hang with every day.) Speaking of.... Nadine may be planning to leave her couch one night at the beginning of March. Her b-day's coming up.

Gravatar for all who care: http://www.urbandictionary.com/d...ne.php? term=pwn

Gravatar Okay, see.... it says RIGHT there (yes I looked at your link. You just couldn't stand it any longer so I decided to put you out of your misery) anyway, it says RIGHT there that it originated from a mispelled word. A TYPO. And it basically means "own" (The originally misspelled word) and since "pwn" is no shorter than the word "own", JUST SAY "OWN"!

Gravatar *sigh* no, you still don't get it. that's how MOST words are created - the natural evolution of language. from slang (common usage), which is generally a derivation (read: typo, or misuse) of academically "proper" language.

except for french. they're snobs.

(i was a bit of an etymologist 10-12 years ago.)

Gravatar So you admit it! It's typo, typo, typo, TYPO! I was wondering, has "pwn" made it to the dictionary yet? No matter... it's probably in your special, Tom dictionary. And are you French? You are acting sorta French. Well, have a super day. Oh, I'd better go back and proofread this. I don't wanna make up any new words today.

Gravatar gahhhhh! yes it has! i GAVE you the link. that dictionary has been used in court cases! (i don't have the reference to that) and in order to be a typo, it would have to have been unintentional. we've established, it was intentional. in the context of a tech service and the internet, it was a valid reference to the slang of that forum, however silly slang it may be. meant in all the humor of "ha ha, isn't this a silly word!"

WORD.

(not a typo)

Gravatar Yeah. The link for Tom's special dictionary. (I didn't realize I was lookin' at a dictionary entry. Even if it was a fake dictionary.)

Gravatar i can't help that you're not familiar or comfortable with that dictionary or its general acceptance in the academic and legal world.
