Gravatar You guys watch tonight's Brit Hume's show? Jennifer Griffin had some interesting things to say. She said that Hizbollah had been firing against Israel across the Lebanon - Israel border while UN has a base...doing absolutely nothing to enforce UN 1559.

She also says that the Lebanon army is weak and will need help. Being that UN is so ineffective, I believe you're right that USA is one of the few countries that has the ability to step in to help Lebanon.

It will certainly help influence and strengthen Lebanon with hopes that Lebanon will become a strong ally for USA.

Gravatar It will be interesting to see what develops there lurker. The fact is that Syria will be isolated in the region as will Iran. Then what happens?

Gravatar Once Hezbollah has been destroyed (all the way, or it will return like a tumor) and Lebanon propped up to gain her breath and rebuild, then a barrier must be created on her borders to the north and east. Nobody can be allowed to either tamper with Lebanon via armies (Syria) or threats of armies. Israel needs to have a safe, stable Lebanon on her northern border.

The world has screwed this for far too long. If the only answer is to nail Syria, too, then we must destroy Syria, too!

[Specter Comment: Hiya benning. I've tried to respond 3 times to you here but I guess I still have to tweak Haloscan some more. I agree that we need to take out Hezbollah and all armed ilamofascists. But we also need to take care of the innocents in all of this. I suspect that we should make Syria and Iran pay for a lot of it, but that won't happen. We will probably end up funding the majority. Sigh....]

Gravatar After reading your Blog description decrying trolls ans snarkyness, you go to Glenn Greenwald's site and leave this as a comment:

"Hahahahaha Busted you sock puppeteer. LOL. Too funny. Maybe you could respond to yourself here and teel yourself how much you support you. IP's don't lie dipstick. "

I guess you are just a lying little hypocritical weasel aren't you?

[Specter Comment: Ed - Thanks for stopping by and commenting on the current thread topic. It sure goes to show your attention span. BTWW - if you read all of the comments I made at the site of the sock puppeteer you will notice that I asked for a rational explanation. It was the posters over there (and maybe you if you follow Glenn's example) that started snarking and swearing. Too bad. Stop back. BTW - Not sure why your other post is not showing up. I'm new to Haloscan and still trying to figure it out.]

Gravatar I wonder how much longer Israel will continue combating Hizbollah.

I can't stand that Kofi Annan. He's going about it the wrong way.

EU is a coward for not recognizing Hibollah as a terrorist organization.

I see that Europe may be under terrorist threat by Hizbollah.

[Specter Comment: lurker - I suspect that EU is just to afraid to take a stand. They are a bit worried about the resident population I would suspect. I wonder if Israel will send ground troops in.]

Gravatar Specter...

I realize there is no love lost for me, but CY kicked me off of his blog, right before I was about to site an article (howitworks.com) that would discredit him in reference to his GBU-28 bomb remarks and depleted uranium.

If you care about America, and free speech, you will quote my comments on his blog.

Facists and terrorists are those who will not tolerate other points of view. Everyone must be the same. I think you are smart enough to know the difference between a patriot and a facist, even if you totally disagree with me.

It takes all kinds to make the world go round. If everyone were the same...the world would be a boring place.

I leave my last words in your hands! Adios amigo.

[Specter Comment: Johnny - you are more than welcome to comment here. CY has control of his site, and I know that he warned you quite a few times. The next step I would take with him is to email him at confederateyankee@gmail.com and discuss the issue. But seriously, as much as I enjoy debate and conversation, sometimes rhetoric levels get too high on both sides. I think the reason he booted you is probably more to do with the fact that you kept thread-jacking. Like I said, you are welcome here, but I do not post as often as I like - Real world work gets in the way...dang....]

Gravatar Good to hear some extra-media common sense being discussed! A point or two about the "pre-text" of a 'small transgression.' Hizbollah's corollary diversion for the abduction of the soldier was to fire Katyusha rockets into Israel, targeting several small towns inside its borders. Many view that particular missile attack and the subsequent rain of ordinance on Israel's civilian population as a symbolic statement in a broad geopolitic cloth of and thus deserving of a measured response. On the ground, however, the long arm of this threat joins the body politic of Iran and its agenda to free the world of civilization. This vanguard threat is not one of words, but projectiles; not for land but for the physical survival of a people in their land, their country and the idea - the belief in the value and freedom of an individual in society.

The ubiquitous doctrinal criticism of warfare (I don't recall who coined it) states that the military usually fights the 'last', meaning previous, war. Pay attention, folks. Israel may be engaged in the next one coming to a theater near you. The Europeans certainly must deal with this reality and it ain't 1066, either.

All the best,

David
