interestingly, I just emailed Prof. Weinberg asking for permission to post that comment of his about WWII. He kindly emailed me his permission almost immediately -- even though I don't think he necessarily supports my political views. lol
Sir John, however, is a staunch pro-US, pro-military, pro-Israel, pro-West supporter, who has written extensively on these subjects.
This of course is not to say that the honorable Prof. Weinberg isn't all of these things, just that he, along with many others, apparently disagrees with some of our government's current policies.
The most important thing about this whole issue to me is the point that Evil actually does exist. Whether or not Islam is in itself Evil, and whether or not we are conducting our War on Terror the right way is, of course, a matter of personal opinion. Although, you all know what my opinions are. lol

moral equivilancy, huh. how can anyone believe in it? moral equality, at its base defies reality! it wipes out opposites. good,bad. night,day. dark,light. love,hate. evil,good. righteous,wicked. beauty,ugly. it says that everything is on equal ground, if that were true then life would not exist! you atheists, how do you know there is no God if all is equal morally!? how can you say one thing is illegal and another legal!? you can't unless all things have their opposites! even arguing that moral equivilancy exists means that you have recognized that there is something that is opposite be it good or bad, from the first thing thereby destroying your own arguement! you can NOT argue for moral equivilancy, because if you did you would be proving that it indeed did NOT exist!
