The truth isn't bloody enough and the antique MSM can't hype it enough to make the blood flow, so they depend on they're friends the terrorist to provide them with the bloody acts of their friends.
They're only interest is getting enough American troops killed to win an election, the could actually care less about the war.

I always love reading the good news. There is so much good news, but all we hear is the bad. I really get sick of it.
Thanks

Scrapiron, I agree. Yet there is SO much good that we are doing there. We have 14 out of 18 provinces practically violence free and living in peace, yet no one seems to want to talk about that. I wish more people would shout out the good news as loud and as often as they can.
It will be too late after the elections, the Democrats if given control will make our soldiers sacrifices, in vain.
Debbie, thanks alot, I go to your site daily to see what you write, you always have great posts.

I think it has less to do with what you perceive as bias as it does with 'if it bleeds it leads'.
This has been the rule with media for as long as I can remember. Don't forget they're trying to sell newpapers, air time etc. Even Fox publishes casualties.

I will agree that the casualties should not be hidden, but neither should the good news.
My major complaint is that there is no fairness in what is reported. The left media only tells one side, at least fox tells both and lets the viewer have all the facts to make decisions on. I watch all the news channels, except CNN.
What is the harm, for them, to show th good with the bad?

Yes...what about the good news.
By only having electricity 1 1/2 hours per day they save on electric bills.
With hundreds of thousands leaving the country because they fear for their safety, you don't have those annoying in-laws around anymore.
Think how much money they save by not being able to buy gasoline.
They save money on work clothes because they don't have any jobs to go to anymore.
Their children aren't offended by liberal propoganda and gay loving teachers because they don't have any schools to go to.
Oh those looney lefty, gay loving baby killers, they just don't see the glass as half full, they're just fact based America haters
Just how much kool-aid do you people have to drink to keep your eyes totally closed?

If you had bothered to read the other Good news from Iraq articles you would see that there ARE schools that are completed and more being built. You would also see there ARE jobs available and positions being filled.
Obviously you have let yourself be led to the slaughterhouse by the left media.
Quick suggestion:

Try reading ALL the news, good and bad yourself instead of letting yourself be used as a puppet and mouth piece for the left wing media.
Youmight actually learn something!!!

We may be winning skirmishes here and there, but unfortunately we are losing the war. What all the happy talkers don't get is this is not about how good a job our guys are doing on the ground, it's about a policy that is not only not working but has turned into a huge debacle in Iraq itself and done the US immense harm elsewhere. We have created a broken state, a civil war is raging whatever the apologists say, our guys are dying at the rate of three or four a day and the Iraqis at the rate of at least 100 a day. Describing what a great job we have done decorating the den while the house is falling down around us may cheer some folks up but it is a basic denial of reality, and as long as people want to keep wearing the rose colored specs our kids are going to keep on dying. Don't take my word for it, see what George Will, who is not exactly a liberal, has to say today.

40% unemployment, hundreds of thousands leaving the country and anywhere from 30,000-500,000 dead.
Do you wonder why 70% of the country wants us out and a majority want to see Americans killed.
Quite a success story.
Oh I forgot....that data didn't come from Faux news, so it's obviously lies.
Keep those blindfolds on, and don't let those Commie lefty's put any of that fact based nonsense in your head.
Go with your gut instead.

Created a broken state?? Are you claiming it was not broken under Saddam? That the genocide he was committing was in some way justified?
Lets start at the beginning here, a history lesson if you will.
Start with three questions:
* Why did the United States and its allies intervene in Iraq?
* Was it worthwhile, especially with reference to the national interests of the U.S. and allies?
* Has it achieved its goals?
For those who claim that the United States went to Iraq out of hubris, or to steal Iraq's oil or to please Israel, the intervention was self-evidently worthless, and a failure. But the majority of Americans should judge liberation not with reference to conspiracy theories, but on the basis of their leaders' stated objectives.
These were:
* To topple Saddam Hussein's regime, which had provoked two major regional wars and defied the will of the United Nations over two decades, and to dismantle its machinery of war and repression.
* To restore power to the people of Iraq and help them set up a new political system of their choice.
* To build new Iraq as a model for all Arab countries still under archaic despotic regimes.
All three goals have been achieved, albeit in varying degrees of success:
* Saddam is in prison, with his machinery of war and repression shattered.
* Power has been restored to the people of Iraq, who have written their own Constitution, held a series of free elections and formed a coalition government of their choice.
* Despite its obvious difficulties, new Iraq has inspired democratic aspirations across the Middle East, and forced some of the despotic regimes into making concessions to their peoples.
Does all that justify intervention? Some might think not. Others, however, will assert that helping free a nation of 25 million from one of the worst regimes in recent history was a noble deed.
Did it serve the interests of America and its allies? Again, some might say: No, it angered some U.S. allies and partners, notably France and Russia, while causing anxiety among Washington's Arab protégés.
But it is also possible to argue that the United States can never be secure until the Middle East is democratized. The region's undemocratic states, obsessed by Arab chauvinism or raving pan-Islamism, operate as swamps that breed the mosquitoes of terror. An Iraq under a democratic regime, based on the will of its peoples, poses no threat to America or its allies; a Saddamite or Qaeda-ist regime would.
Was the intervention successful? Yes. The U.S.-led Coaltion achieved all its objectives in Iraq in just three years. What is at issue now is how to protect that success against enemies out to undo it.

It is largely the hope of breaking the will of the American people that keeps the insurgency alive. In that context, the only policy that is both moral and realistic is to stay the course. This does not mean sticking to policies and tactics that produce few results or are manifest failures - but sticking to the strategy of defending the emergence of a democratic Iraq as a model for reform in the Middle East.
Such a strategy would achieve quicker success if it enjoyed bipartisan support in America. The biggest blow to the many enemies of new Iraq would be a clear message from the United States that, whoever controls the next Congress, Americans won't hand Iraq over to the jihadists, the Saddamites or the mullahs of Tehran.
Having won an historic victory in Iraq, the United States and its allies should have the courage to preserve it.

Now a comment NOT in response to these, for I have already said my piece there.
I have said this before.

I mention in the above link how it seems people almost enjoy spouting and watching news of all the bad news in Iraq, yet they cannot seem to handle any good coming from there. None at all. It is some kind of mental thing I think, to acknowledge any good our troops are accomplishing, would somehow take something away from them.
Seeing anything good about Iraq, or our troops or the current administration, like the economy, gas prices, unemployment being at a low, Dow having hit the peak etc.....those good things seem to drive these people out of what little mind they might still have left.
It is an interesting sight to behold. Would be amusing if it wasn't so sad.

So gas prices that are nearly double what they were when Dumbya took office is a success.
So a stock market that is slightly above where it was 6 YEARS AGO is a success? Stocks were up 20% a year in the 90's.
Have you conveniently forgotten that we have had the highest deficits in our history under Dumbya when he inherited the highest surpluses in history.
How about the highest annual spending increases in 40 years...another success story?
You're looking more foolish by the minute..you'd better get back to Faux news and slurp up some more propaganda.

You seem to forget that gas prices rose drastically after Katrina...then again, I suppose the hurricane is ALSO the administrations fault. Stock market hit its ALL time high, and THAT was on all the news stations, not fox, maybe you should try reading the actual news instead of just swallowing all the crap you are being fed by the left media.
Deficits naturally go up after a major natural disaster and at wartime, it is sort of a no brainer. At least for those of us that still USE our brains. There were a few states that were completly devastated and billions went to them and still is.
Really, you should try spending less time babbling incoherently and more time reading up, from more than ONE source, try looking at ALL the sources and then "making up yur own mind" instead of letting the left media tell you what to think. It isn't as easy, but well worhtwhile.

Lyndon Johnson also complained about the media's portrayal of the situation in Vietnam. I mention this so you realize that the media doesn't just criticize conservatives.
BTW- do you really need the pink background? It causes an estrogen overload.

I agree Greg on both points. The media interference in matters of war is despicable whether a Republican or a Democrat is in charge. I ALSO agree on the pink comment, problem is with blogger, if I change it, I lose everything except the actual blog. Any suggestions there? LOL
