If you look up your history, historically presidents have lost seats in congress in their 6th year...its all on the net at your fingertips, just look.
Senate wasn't such a buttkicking considering that Lieberman, who happens to be an iraq war SUPPORTER is the 51st vote in the senate, so on matters of the the war, it will be a 50/50 vote with cheney breaking the tie.

Not such a good lead now is it?
