A word from the voice of experience here: when I was in the army, a great number of the people I served with had enlisted for college benefits. A large number of them were southerners, scored highly on the ASVAB tests, came from rural areas, and were fantastic marksmen (something very important for a soldier, by the by). I don't recall being in service with anyone who lacked education, or the motivation to better themselves in their pursuits of knowledge. Many colleges and universities have satellite programs for soldiers who wish to take night classes for college credits.
Just a thought from one of many of us who got their first college courses out of the way while in uniform...

Thanks...perfect example of how Rangel AND Pelosi by stating Rangel was trying to "make a point", both are either liars when they insist that soldiers come from "lower income" neighborhoods or lack education, or they simply do not have the brains to look the truth up themselves. Either way, it doesn't say much for them.

That's fine, let them continue. All they're doing is angering active duty military personel and veterans and making sure that this group doesn't vote for the Democrats after this. My sincere hope is that the American people will take a good hard look at our military after all of this and see the courage, honor, and valor that makes up the character of the American soldier, and come out in the next election humbled, ashamed of themselves for betraying them this past election, and wiser for heeding the words of the American fighting men and women.
