Stop and think about Powerline's numbers: 100+ murders a day in Baghdad, a city about the size of Chicago. Powerline is comparing annual murders in US cities with monthly murders in Baghdad.
Powerline did exactly the same thing last summer, so it's unlikely to be an honest mistake. In other words, he is trying to mislead you.

Now that dinner is done. The point which some either deliberately try to ignore or are simply too slow to understand is that the numbers in Iraq as a "country" are only slightly above ours as a "country" and THEY are in the midst of a struggle. What does that make us?
Remember, 14 out of 18 provinces in Iraq are practically violence free.... name ONE state here that has barely any violence.
Overall, they are doing better and people simply wish to close their eyes to that because it does not fit with their anti-war, anti-military ideology.

And another thing. It is the responsibility of our government to ensure, to the best of its ability, the safety of its citizens, NOT the citizens of another country! We may quibble over whether invading Iraq has made us safer (altho' how anyone could demonstrate that it has made us LESS safe, I can't figure). What should be irrelevant is whether it has made IRAQIS safer! We have bent over backwards to keep them as safe as possible while taking out the regime they allowed to flourish, which demonstrably (the MSM's and the Deathocrat's statements notwithstanding) posed a threat to US citizens, being in significant cahoots with violent Muslims who hate us.
I can not stand the idea that we would leave Iraq at all, much less any time soon. We conquered, we ought to stay as long as we want. We certainly ought to stay until we are satisfied that violent Muslims no longer pose a threat to our citizens. That means no nuke program in Iran, at a bare minimum. Preferably no boy Assad in Syria, either. Best thing would be to call on every majority Muslim nation to surrender at nukepoint.
I am thankful for our soldiers and what they are doing. I pray our leaders don't betray them.
