Gravatar He must have seen that Just for Men commercial with Keith Hernandez and Walt Frazier...

Gravatar LOL if it is him an not a regurgitated video

Gravatar Spree, my dear -- there's a word for what you've got and it's BALLS. And I love you for it!
We've talked about it before -- all it takes is a nut with a computer to rattle our cage. I'm constantly trying to locate myself somewhere between well-informed and optimistic. It is a daily battle. You, my dear, are a great help in keeping me/us strong and confident.
Thanks for that.
Right on Spree!

Gravatar Thanks Roger. I do not discount the danger, but we CAN recognize it, be aware and alert and not let fear rule us.

So, they want to kill us, we know it, we understand it, we will be on guard but I will not let a video from an old sick bastard like bin laden strike fear into my heart.

He can screw himself.

Gravatar Actually, I don't think he can screw himself these days. He's just not up to it.

Gravatar Laughing here. He is pathetic.

Gravatar Actually, I've never felt fear about any of this stuff -- not even on that awful day. Never fear. But always concern. Different than before. Never taking things for granted -- like I did before. My family, my friends. Not wanting to be stupid. Never accepting things I'm being told at face value anymore -- no matter whose doing the telling. I question everything now. I always try to understand what motivates the teller. Do they have a secret agenda of their own. Most of the time the answer is Yes. I pick and choose and try to learn. Read MEMRI and SITE and all the others. Every day I learn something. I learn a lot from people right here. Even from people like Raoul and Kaye and the others. I'm sure you're the same way.

I have a wonderful life. This is one of the happiest times of my life. And goddamn Osama isn't any part of it.

Gravatar Good for you Roger!!!

Night everyone.

Gravatar You're right. OBL isn't the one shooting at our troops.
Those are Sunnis and Shia. That's what happens when you step into the middle of a civil war.

Gravatar Considering that "experts" which I doubt you are, are still in disagreement on whether Iraq meets the criteria for being a civil war, your speculative comment shows ignorance of the facts on the ground.

One of the major criteria for "civil war" is a faction trying to take control of the Government>/b>, ( Lebanon is one example of meeting such criteria)THAT isn't the same as sectarian violence. Perhaps you should learn the difference between the two before commenting.

Gravatar

Your right. The Shi'a aren't trying to take control of the government and the Sunni don't have a problem with that (at least not a big enough problem to do something violent).
Civil war, sectarian violence, revenge killings, Al Quaida terror, and escalated criminal (organized and otherwise) violence in a lawless environment can and do exist in one place and we are in the middle of it.

Gravatar I would say General Petraeus is far more an expert than the "arm chair Generals" that get their news from the tv or online.

http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....-to- troops.html

You will excuse me for listening to the troops on the ground IN Iraq and the generals rather than the media or people like you.

Gravatar YOU are missing the point... here is what Petraeus had to say, and NOT Bush's report:

http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....n-surge- is.html

In a face to face interview with The Australian, General Petraeus described some of the dramatic changes in Iraq since the surge began.

They include but are not limited to:

**Dramatic reduction of sectarian killings.
**Drop in the number of roadside bombings.
**Killing or capturing of al-Qaeda fighters, causing the terrorist group to lose influence with local Sunnis.
**75 per cent reduction in religious and ethnic killings since last year.
**Doubling in the seizure of insurgents' weapons caches between January and August.
**US forces are pursuers instead of defenders.
**Religious-related deaths would be down to a quarter of what they were last December by the end of August.

Dr. Brendan Nelson, the Australian Defense Minister had this to say:

Dr Nelson, who went to Afghanistan and Iraq this week and is now in Washington, said General Petraeus had presented a detailed presentation on security inside the country.

"We finished our meeting with a very clear picture of his thinking of the assessment of the security situation, not just in Baghdad but also in the south and the work being done by us and the British," he said.

"No one should underestimate the importance to what is happening in Iraq of our contribution and the significance of it to the Americans and the Iraqis themselves.

"We will wait until we see the President's response to the report and we will shape our forward planning around that response.

"I think it is fair to say that we will continue to look for increased opportunities for training."

The Defence Minister said Australian forces were highly regarded as trainers and whenever he asked the Iraqis to nominate what they wanted they "always said training".

"Our support for continuing support and involvement in Iraq is a minority position but we have a moral responsibility to these people to see this job through," Dr Nelson said.

People don't want to SEE the truth so they do everything they can to discredit what Petraues will be saying.

HE is the expert, not the politicians, not the arm chair generals, NOT the media.....it is the boots on the ground that know what is happening and what progress is being made.

Perhaps you should quit talking and start LISTENING to them.

Gravatar I guess that somewhere along the way in my 70 years I must have seen something more disgusting than Weed and Turbin rushing around trying to discredit the General in charge of our troops on the ground in a time of war, questioning his motives, his honesty and his integrity for their own selfish political purposes -- before he's even had a chance to issue his report.
But right now I just can't think of anything.

Gravatar Petraues has more class and credibility than the lot of them.

Gravatar "Civil war, sectarian violence, revenge killings, Al Quaida terror, and escalated criminal (organized and otherwise) violence in a lawless environment can and do exist in one place and we are in the middle of it."

Grewgills, are you sure you're not talking about any number of U.S. inner cities?
