Illegal Immigrants rarely contribute positively; their first action in the foreign country is to demonstrate lack of respect for the established law.

It is excellent to see that laws to fight illegal immigration are starting to work. People who are hear illegally are criminals, because they are breaking our laws. I would like to see every single illegal immigrant caught and deported from the USA. All these illegals should be forced to go back to there own countries and apply for US citizenship legally after a waiting period for being her illegally in the first place.
How anybody can support road maps to citizenship for illegals without them being sent back to there countries first is beyond me. Illegal immigrantion saps resources from the US, everything from jobs, to healthcare, to enrollment in our educational system. We have to pay taxes that support these illegals, and a lot of these illegals get paid under the table and never contribute.
Why should be give amnesty to people that did not respect our laws on immigration in the first place. All this will do is show others that they can break our laws and never get punished for it. Also, how can a person be a good citizen when the first act in the US was breaking the law.
Remember, we have laws for a reason as well as an immigration process. It is to protect the US from potentioal terrorists, criminals, etc. and when people come in her illegally, we have no way of knowing the portential danger they put the citizenry of the US in.
To all legal immigrants, I salute you and I am thankful to you for doing it the right way and wish you all the luck in attaining the american dream.
I am so happy to see the illegals finally starting to flow in the other direction but I've got to say that quote in the CNN article by Magdalena Schwartz, an immigrant-rights activist and pastor at a Mesa church really ticks me off. "They don't want to live in fear, in terror." What "fear and terror" are they living in? If it is fear of being caught and terror of being deported then they brought it upon themselves and I have no more pity for them then I would for anyone else who chooses to break the law.
I'm glad the laws are working, but it's time to secure the porous border, which is the reason those "illegals" made it here in the first place.
Also, out of fairness, we don't have the system in place we used to have at a century ago, which is anyone from any country could show up and they would be issued permission to work (eg. Ellis Island) and eventually legalized their status. If we are not going to have such system then at least secure our borders and make it a bit fairer for everyone else. Nowadays people are forced to look for alternate means, a lot of the time illegal, to come into this country.
A lot of you posting int his forum are able to post here because you have ancestors that took advantage of that system (coming here and being allowed to legally work). If your ancestors tried to come into this country today they'd be int he same plight the "illegals" in Arizona are in right now.
Let's face it, one thing that's certain to remain constant in this country is the flow of people trying to migrate into it. If anything, that flow has increased and will continue to. I believe that comes with being the most powerful nation in the world.

1) measure the drop in crime and strain on medical facilities and schools
2) identify jobs that "citizens" can and will take
3) determine what jobs are left open and needing... that may then open the door to an effective "guest job program".

Illegal immigrants have the same options as unemployed Americans...what does an unemployed American who cannot find a job do? Steals, commits crime, begs for money on the street, works as an independent contractor, starts a business, etc.
I sure don't want an illegal immigrant who was fired from a job to get wiser and realize that it's more profitable for him to become a criminal...or if he isn't that intelligent to be begging for money on the street, etc.
It's better to let him keep his job. Plus he needs money to go back to his country anyway.
The illegal immigrant became a criminal the minute he/she made the concious decision to enter this country illegally. It's no accident that they ended up here, whatever the consequences they brought it upon themselves. Its about time the states and americans in general were ridded of the burden of supporting them. They are like a virus that keeps spreading, and should be cleaned out and sent back home. Mexico doesn't have a problem defending their southern borders yet we as americans are expected to pick up the tab in every way possible to make their life here easier......I think not!
