Folks,
The article describing an event at the Peace Vigil in West Chester on March 22,2008 does not tell the whole stroy. The Vet for Peace you have identified here is a Vietnam Vet who repeatedly was told in a loud fashion by Dee that he is a traitor. This kind of harrassment has been going on few weeks by those who supposedly support our troops overseas yet denigrate those at home who have served but do not support the mission in Iraq.

I don't care what WORDS were said, he had no right to touch the photographer who WASN'T Dee.
Thats the bottom line, the supposed "peace activists" are the first to take words and turn them to violence.
Get a clue.

I'm a "Citizen Journalist" as well involved in the West Chester vigils. I would like to clarify two things.
One, the Chester County Peace Movement has been vigiling at this corner for over five years; the Chester County Victory Movement arrived to oppose the CCPM only in September 2007. So it is inaccurate and quite misleading to call this a "pro-troop rally." Anti-war vigilers always outnumber pro-war vigilers, who tend to focus their anger toward the CCPM vigilers.
Two, I've worked in and out of the press business for some 30 years, and I would challenge Skye as far as her "professional conduct." She is a one-sided, very passionate, pro-war advocate, who I and others find often exhibiting unethical conduct.

John considering YOUR slant, it makes perfect sense you would try to slander Skye. The FACT is, the man laid his hands on her...period. THAT is still against the law and the reason HE was arrested.
Spin that pal.

John Grant has worked in the press business for 30 years.Promoting left wing agendas and supporting tinpot dictators like Chavez. Would anyone like a copy of the Alo Presidente video starring Chaves and Grant?
John Grant is the president of Veterans For Peace (oxymoron of the year) Chapter 31 Philadelphia. Also, Grant and his collection of fools have only recently began attending these rallies. His first statement is at best misleading the reader to believe he has been involved since the begining.
The Chester County Victory Movement is solely there to support our troops and their mission - I would know -since I was involved from virtually the begining in Sept 2007. Also, I have video evidence to back up my statements.
I am still awaiting Grant's evidence on who is funding the Chester County Victory Movement and also which political party is backing us:
Next Saturday, if you're free, plan to come to West Chester. I think it's fair to say, the Victory Vigil gang has political endorsement or support from above or nationally and that vigils like the one in West Chester are targets. Why? It is a conservative Republican stronghold like Montgomery County that is opening up to more Democrats. Getting a responsible and sensible anti-war message out is important, here. For the same reason, it is incumbent on elements like the Victory Vigilers to, one, intimidate and shut down such a vigil, two, use slander and name-calling to re-define the vigil in their narrow, negative terms, or three, by orchestrated antics, turn what was formerly a quiet and honorable vigil into a ridiculous circus.

VFP Chapter 31
Grant has made a 30+ year living on making unsubstantiated statements and passing them off as fact. That nonsense stopped at the West Chester Rally - when fantasy met fact.
Evidence-based practice is what makes me professional and Grant just a two-bit hack.

I strongly object to Mr. Grants' usage of the term "pro war" to describe those who counter demonstrate against the anti war or "peace" (CCPM) movement folks in West Chester PA. It is people like him who try to paint us with the broad brush of idiocy and flag waving uncontrolled hatred. Sir, your drivel may fool some people some of the time but certainly it will not fool all the people all the time. You and your cause never did fare all that well and so, rave on lad; better yet, don't rave on, go sing a song about your heroes the Tory's. Did it ever occur to you that we (mostly veterans) really do want our troops home; we really do wish to end this war? We want this war to end today but ONLY victoriously, and that means that our enemy is totally and undeniably eliminated. If not, we will have a problem for decades; if we have a future at all. Me? I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees. We would be foolish to repeat history (again) In Vietnam we did not learn from Korea. In Iraq and Afghanistan we must adhere to the lesson learned in Vietnam- VICTORY, there is no substitute. The day we abandoned Vietnam, thousands of innocents were murdered. Same thing happened in Korea. Do you want the blood of those innocent citizens now living in Iraq and Afghanistan on your hands? NOT ON MY WATCH BUDDY!
I quote:
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you.
May your chains sit lightly upon you.
And may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!"
Patriot Samuel Adams:"
