Gravatar Obama on the brink of collapse

Looking at news and polls on Saturday morning from around the country it looks as though John McCain supporters have finally awaken as Barack Obama starts to slip fast in states he was sure to lock up by this weekend.

With the sudden switch of direction from the Obama campaign it looks as if their strategy of attack is exploding right before their eyes.

Baracks efforts of adding advertising in states he has no chance has allowed John McCain to recapture the lead in Indiana, close the gap to 3 points in Pennsylvania.

Reading blogs and websites on the internet over the last day shows John McCain supporters like Lisa in Florida saying, “it feels there is new life in the Republican party and I will be out knocking on doors this weekend for McCain”.

The biggest hit today to the Obama campaign comes from Zogby as they have posted numbers from Friday showing John McCain now leads over Barack by +1.

Hang on folks as it looks like the Straight Talk Express is about to pull into the driveway of the White House.

PS.. Thanks Joe for noticing that McCain backers will never quit!

Gravatar Hey Anonymous Guy, you must have dropped out of school around the 9th Grade. Clearly you don't know how to read. The normal Zogby poll shows a three day rolling average, that's why you see the five point lead. If you read the article correctly, it's talking about what the polls showed for one day (yesterday), and that poll showed McCain leading by one. Go back to school!!!!

Gravatar McCane + Palin = 4 More Years of MegaPain.

Gravatar Why hasn't the media done more to educate voters about the electoral college and how they're the ones who actually decide who the next president will be?

What's the point of voters casting their ballot if only select members make the decision? The entire process is very confusing.

Key Electoral College Dates and Events

* November 4, 2008 - General Election: The voters in each State choose electors to serve in the Electoral College. As soon as election results are final, the States prepare seven or nine original "Certificates of Ascertainment" of the electors chosen, and send one original along with two certified copies (or three originals, if nine were prepared) to the Archivist of the United States.
* December 15, 2008 - Meeting of Electors: The electors in each State meet to select the President and Vice President of the United States. The electors record their votes on six "Certificates of Vote," which are paired with the six remaining original "Certificates of Ascertainment." The electors sign, seal and certify the packages of electoral votes and immediately send them to the President of the Senate, the Archivist of the United States and other designated Federal and State officials.

Gravatar I am one angry woman who voted for McCain. Any woman who thinks the Dems have your best interests in mind is wrong. I've watched for 40 years and the Dems have done NOTHING for women.
I wish Hillary had not wasted her talents on this party.

Gravatar RJ, it's NOT the media's job to educate Americans on the electoral college--that is the job of the SCHOOLS--you know, those government run indoctrination camps for our young? However, you've done a great job of summing up the process here, quite succinctly.

Gravatar The best news I heard all day. The more I see what Obama stands for the less I like it. Under his rule, plus Pelosi and Reid controlling Congress, we would be sent into a depression. None of these people have ever owned a business and had to balance the books. With that lack of experience a lot of mischief and mistakes could, and probably would, happen.

Gravatar While it might not be the media's job to educate its citizenry, it should at least provide basic information about the electoral process. They certainly don't waste time informing the public about specific items of interest whether it's useful or not (health news, questionable studies, etc.).

This election year is historic, and one would think they would do a better job of informing people of the true political, constitutional and legal facts of a presidential election and what one person one vote really stands for.

Perhaps on election day they will discuss in more detail the electoral college and its role in presidential elections.

I believe statistics show that only 35% of students learn civics in school, so it is a tragedy that more is not done to teach children about their country's legislative affairs.

Gravatar RJ, I wholeheartedly agree the media could--and possibly should (perhaps when they do their summaries of propositions and candidates?--give a short "brush-up" synopsis of the electoral college. That would indeed be helpful, especially for us old timers who were required to have civics and government under our belts before graduating.

Unfortunately, the media has become a tool rather a source of objective commentary and information. And it is a tragedy civics and government are no longer required for a diploma.

Gravatar Does anyone have a link to the article showing Mc Cain with a lead? Would be nice to see.
Please stop taking down my posts. I'm asking a legit question.

Gravatar Then read the damned article for the link or use something revolutionary like google. We will NOT do your research for you. Considering it's all over the internet, it shouldn't be difficult to find.

Gravatar What article? I can't find any recent article saying Mc Cain is ahead in the polls. Please stop being so petty and post the link. I could post about 20 news links to show Obama is ahead.

Gravatar Go to Google--enter Zogby Presidential Poll for Friday October 31, 2008

THAT article. And quit whining.
