Kerry's comment is stupid. Everyone in that audience knew he was being tasered, he screamed it our for cripes sake. Kerry just couldn't stop talking long enough to hear it.

They should have just let him have his little rant and appear unstable, and allow Kerry to answer the questions (and likewise appear unstable). Dang it, I want the answer about the skull and bones too! LOL.
This is a difficult one. I am somewhat entertained by a liberal calling out another liberal. I agree with Chris, let the man rant and then let Kerry answer and let them both appear unstable.
I don't think he should have been tazed. I look at the videos and I think the one very large officer could have handled him alone. None the less there were 6 officers.
I dont agree with his struggle but I know that if I was touched by a policeman in a way similar to arrest without knowing why, I would struggle too. (even though I think his was more about getting attention)
The police never answer his question as to why he is being detained, they do not read him his rights while detaining, and in fact they tell him downstairs in the video that he is being arrested for inciting a riot.
His charge sheet though states "resisting an officer and disturbing the peace"
You dont arrest someone for one thing then change it to something else to fit your fancy.
There is error on the kid for jumping line and ignoring the "rules" but the police are definately out of bounds here.
Last night when I read it, I thought differently than this morning when I saw both videos and heard eyewitness accounts.
Having the background on this guy, seeing his website and seeing his claims that the government would kill him...sorta made me rethink my original thoughts.

I agree, I love to see a liberal calling out another liberal. But this kid deserved to get tasered. If he really believes the government is out to get him. then he needs to be in therapy, or locked up for his and our protection. If it was a publicity stunt on his part, he deserves it even more.
Resisting arrest, whether passively or agressively (and this falls between the two) is illegal and can lead to escalating violence on the police's part. They used less that lethal force, and no blunt trauma force. They warned him repeatedly. He kept resisting. Personally, I think they should have tasered him quicker.
Or it could be his online audition to join the wackos at CodePink or MoveOn.

This whole "the government is going to kill me, don't turn me over to them!" Hysteria is laughable.
Either he did this for attention or he's indeed sick. He sounds like one of those wacky conspiracy theorists that thinks 1984 is here and ascribes to every single piece of trash that is disseminated thru the left loons.

in any event, having been in situations not QUITE the same but having been around a few arrests in my time (line of duty as a fireman, stop gasping and gaping, ya'll...sheesh) UNLESS the perp is stoned out of his mind on something like, oh, say PCP, six cops is usually MORE than enough to handle one knucklehead without having to haul out the tazers.
The way he was struggling, would that then risk him being injured in the struggle? (Devils advocate here)
There are plenty, PLENTY of restraints that they learn in police academies all across the country that are non injurious to the detainee. We learned them several years back for POW processing when I was in the army, as well.
