As Americans we should always make sure that our Troops
are funded and I don't understand what is wrong with congress in
this particular case.
I've been sending them my demanding it thing but it seems as though
they've either blocked our Troops and Veterans out of their minds or they are
truly out of their minds in DC....
In my opinion our Troops and Veterans come first ( always) so I think congress
should stay after school in DC instead of going home for the Holiday recess.
It's sad when a Sodlier can't depend on our Government to make sure that
they are fully funded and our Veterans get the health care that they earned and
deserve.
I believe that someone needs to take a stick and knock them over the heads.
When will they ever learn that our Troops lives depend on their getting down to
business and doing what is necessary for them.
And this means that they should stop playing around and support our Troops
by funding them and give our beloved Veterans their health care. Nothing
on their agenda deserves their attention more than funding for our Troops and
health care for our Veterans.
It sickens me to think that while our Soldiers are in harms way those SOB's
are sitting on their fat rumps doing nothing.
How I wish we could STOP their pay raises and perks that we give them.
I want them to beg us for it just like they make our Veterans beg them.
I want pelosi to give back that jet, give the money to the Military.
Those idiots don't deserve the pay raises & perks, either they fund our
Troops give our Veterans health care or get the hell out of our House of
Representatives.

Starfish, considering I do interviews WITH those troops as well as bring their letters, blogs, emails and calls here so that they have a voice, you are severely mistaken thinking that you can speak for them. THEY SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES which you would know had you even bothered to take a look at their open letters to America.
They explain how fools get numbers like what you just quoted by ignoring the soldiers themselves.

Try listening to the troops instead of running your mouth..... we don't speak FOR them, we bring THEIR words and we believe they are quite capable of speaking for themselves.
Just look at Appeal for Courage, 3285 ACTIVE military speaking out against the garbage you just spewed...find me 3285 ACTIVE soldiers in Irag and Afghanistan that speak against it...
Oh, you can't..but try anyway, you might learn something.
Find me a groups of over $8,000 Iraq and Afghanistan members speaking out against your defeatism... Vets For Freedom AND Vets for Victory have double that amount.
Oh you can't...because the other grous added together do not equal their numbers.

You say,"prefer to see America lose", I support the troops!I thought Scott Ritter had a chance to stop this thing back in 2001 until he was arrested in an Albany, NY. McDonald's trying to pick-up a underage girl.It's great that things are improving,I see the reports.However,I also suspect that this improvement will now lead to the bombing of Iran,$160 dollar a barrel oil,and the cost of living going up.Then we can separate the real republicans from the think-they-are-want-to-be republicans.When Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was here he was not given a chance to talk before he was hit with a load of crap.If a blind person listened to most reports he would think Ahmadinejad had a bomb strapped to his waist.The pattern is clear.
If you hope for success, then get your head in the present and OUT of the past because PRESENTLY, we are kicking ass and taking names and by refusing to acknowledge the progress our wonderful troops are making, you are acting like nothing more than a defeatist.

Starfish, about Iran. We still have a years worth of diplomacy to try but your words should be for China and Russia which are weakening any and all sanctions to the point where diplomacy won't work.
Read my Iran pieces, I have often stated we have time to force them diplomatically to honor their international obligations, but if the UN continues to be helpless, it IS going to get to the point of a choice of military action or a nuclear Iran.
I suggest you start writing to the UN and get on their asses to pass some sanctions that will negate the need for military action, instead of pounding the "we are gonna bomb Iran" drum.
