it isnt just in california we are having a small break out here in colorado loveland area its very predictable and has an almost methodic course both my kids caught it they both threw up the first day almost uncontrolably then skiped a day threw up again for another evening then had diarea for several days it takes about 48 72 hours to gestate then takes off if anyone one else has it take my advise get your washing machine ready the bleach and lysol out and lock yourself in for about a week because thats how long you will deal with it unless you have multiple people in the house then well itll be longer and stock up on jello its the only thing that will stay down
Nicole, thanks for updating us with that info.
this is one miserable sickness. My 21 month old broke out with it on the hottest day of the year (97 in SF!). My husband and I were suffering from it all weekend long. Nothing like having to vomit and have diarrhea at the same time 
I hope ya'll feel better now.
