If it was me and in some bizarre world I was POTUS I would say – look, at this point I don’t care what you fools do. We (Americans) are done with your squabble. Here is my (as POTUS) standpoint… the first American crossfire casualty in your insane, fanatic, childish war - I'll take you both out!
Until then do whatever you want. In other words completely stay out of it, until we are dragged into it and then, end it with no verdict and in the absolutely fairest way - by rapidly taking both sides out.

It's in the world's best interest to stand behind Israel. Hamas is hurting its own people by acting so aggressively. A president Obama would obviously support Israel's current actions. It's obvious she has no choice.

Problem is that Israel has tried aggressive action in the past and it has not worked. Israel holds all the cards, before it can expect the dog to stop biting, it first has to stop kicking it. The more Israel attacks, the more it gets attacked.

Israel's attacks have not been strong enough. Until Israelis elect leadership that has the political will to abandon the "two-state solution" pipe dream and treat the Palestinian territories as the terrorist states they are, the Qassam rockets will never stop falling.
I fully expect Benjamin Netanyahu to win in a landslide in Israeli elections in February, and in 2009 Israel will finally possess the political will to deal with both the Palestinians and Iran with all due force.
Obama will back Israel when it happens. He has no political choice. In a very real sense, this conflict is completely out of Obama's hands. Netanyahu will be calling the shots on foreign policy, not Clinton or Obama.

I think Obama would use his power more wisely to stop the rockets. There are powers other than military, FYI. Don't think that Obama is so stupid and bloodthirsty as to support killings of 300 palestinians. Israelis, you don't love your country, if you support your government.

I know, he will send them with bow and arrow.
Israel should protect their boundaries! Every piece of land they have given up, in the hope of peace, now has rockets. Aimed directly at them.

I really hope that by the time Obama enters the White House, Israel and Zionism will be a dark lost memory. Why would he inherit the BIGGEST PROBLEM on this planet? A problem that has gained strenght with the complicity and duplicity of the past and present politicians/traitors. End to Zionism and Israel means freedom for Americans and Jews first, and the rest of the WHOLE world. I say death to Zionism and may GOD help Palestinians and all the real freedom and truth fighters!!!

i don't see where is the problem here.
plasteniens consider these people who are dying as martyers and they are going to heaven and the males are going to meet 17 virgin for each with better life than on earth therefore they are placing the rockets launcher between civilians which is a well known techtique in the muslim world cuz muslim reproduce at a very high rate and doesn't matter if few dies in one night they will reproduce much mroe.
the second point which no one would like to talk about is that this same palestiniens are the ones who are raping, stealing, persecuting the christians plasteniens forcing them to leave the holy lands and Gaza per se so let this people taste their own medicine, the world is watching christians in the middle east being raped persecuted and killed in Iraq, Egypt, Sudan and plastien so here we go let these muslims know the taste of crimes they are committing against the poor christians arabs.
third point, an arab throw a shoe on G.W. Bush very good let then throw more shoes at isreal, bombs are a good response.

The world is so quick to blame Israel for everything wrong with the world! The Arab nations have far more land than the Israel ....if the Arabs are so damn concerned about a Palestinian state then they can give them some of their land and end all this! Give them a big chunk of land to the west of the West Bank....the muslims so being about peace and all!

Challenge, can anyone prove this wrong?:–
1. Constitution Article II requires USA President to be “natural born citizen”.
2. BHO
’s website admits his dad was Kenyan/British, not American, citizen when BHO was born.
3. BHO is therefore not a “natural born citizen” (irrespective of Hawaiian birth or whether he may be a 14th Amendment “citizen” of USA) — as confirmed in the Senate’s own McCain qualification resolution agreed to by BHO.
4. Supreme Court has already docketed two upcoming conferences, 1/9/09 and 1/16/09 — between dates Congress counts electoral votes (1/8/09) and Presidential inauguration (1/20/09) — to address Berg Case and fashion relief on BHO’s eligibility to be President.
5. Since no facts are in dispute, Supreme Court rules on Summary Judgment to enjoin BHO’s inauguration as President.
6. Therefore, BHO is not inaugurated as President.
7. Vice President Elect Biden is inaugurated Acting President under the 20th Amendment to serve until new President is determined — the procedure for which determination to be set out by Congress and/or the Supreme Court so long as in conformance with the Constitution.

gali, one, there has been no real proof given that Obama was born in Hawaii, two, your own biases are showing in regards to Sarah Palin, three, Russia had no reason to invade Georgia other than to flex its muscles, four, Hamas has been firing rockets into Israel for ages and it's not been reported by our national media.
Perhaps if you were truly interested in fair and balanced, you'd practice it yourself rather than following in lockstep with the left.

Michael,
One, a birth certificate is a legal document and a proof of citizenship.
Two, I am not a politician and only expressing my opinion based on what i've seen. palin makes me smile She's been very entertaining this past months. Three, 1500 south ossetians have been killed by georgians prior to the Russia's "invasion". If you follow the US media coverage it certainly can look like russia flexing muscles. It was in US interest to present it that way. The reality is different.
Four, Israel took the land from the Palestinians and treated them like second class citizens afterwards pooring their sewage on their land. I am not pro Hamas, but i can see clearly where hamas is coming from.
You are right, i am interested in fair and balanced and my bad for my previous comment. My mistake!

Hamas is a terrorist group. Where are your numbers on how many people Hamas has killed? Islamist terrorists (aka. muslims) kill people all over the world all the time. The land was taken from Israel first and they still do not have anywhere near the land they once did. I find it rich that someone with zero knowledge is making fun of Palin. Obama never showed an actual birth cert. you need to educate yourself.

There are terrorists among radical muslims, christians and jews! History knows many examples. At this time, Israel is terrorizing palestine. Last numbers i believe is 4 israeli vs 385 palestinians.
Zero knowledge about palin? wasn't she on the news more then anyone else during the compaign. I think i have learned enough and wouldn't waste any of my precious time educating myself about her. she is just not worth it.

gali there has never been a nation or a people called Palestine or Palestinians. The name was invented by Hadrian to fool his soldiers into going to Judea (the Russian Front of his day).

Katie, there are plenty of ancient sources refering to Palestinian nation. For centuries palestinians and jewish people peacefully coexisted.
But to understand Palestinians today, let's imagine that American Indians come back and claim their land. Because let's face it, they have allll rights to it. They were here first. They will just take your houses and cars. And EU will actually give it to them and send all americans into settlements. How would you like that?

Katie, If you want to go all the way back. Before israel establishment, there were people called philistines (palestinians in english) that were defeated by king david as we know. Many different people occupied the region throughout history. There is time when jews and arabs coexisted in peace until jews started flooding from eastren europe and forced arabs to leave their home and live in refugee camps in intolerable and inhumaniterian conditions. peace.

Yes but the PalArabs are not genetically related to the Philistines (who were Greek in many ways). Instead they are genetically linked to Yemen. And they should go back there.

Katie, my point is that neither arabs or israelis lived therer first. even alot of israelis that came from eastren europe and all over the world have ancestors probably not originally from israel. It is known that israel gives citizenship to anyone who is jew (or converted to judasim). Again my point is that the original jews lived peacfully with arabs until the zionist movement wanted to create its country within country and start all miss we see today.

IMHO: What seems to be missing here is that the Jewish people are Gods' chosen people. The Bible says that God will "strike down the enemies" of the Jewish people. I have empathy for the non-violent Muslims, but let's face it...God is NOT on the side of anyone who worships "Muhammed"...
Hamas will be defeated, it may take years, but they will be defeated.

i read a lot of ravings over who has the historical right to this land that was called palestine, however, i will leave that to others to decide. my main consideration today would be directed at the united states and it's total immorality in this area , the shame its elected members of congress inflict upon their "real" country by failing to impose once honoured standards that the united states of america was identified with, for the sake of a safe seat paid for by contributions from the various jewish lobbies in america, they have tarnished even more the land of "hope and freedom". congress would do well to remember that these lobbies represent a foreign state that might not always have the interests of the USA in the forefront of their aims.

Israel buys its weapons from US. Palestine from Egypt. I don't get why you are thinking that Palestinians don't have a right to have weapons for self-defense. Hamas is trying to get weapons whatever way it can, that's every government's first task to protect its citizens, isn't it? Or you just want the Palestinians totally unarmed and defenseless? But even then they will use stones to fight against occupation.

Let's see--first of all, there's no such thing as a Palestinian. They are Arabs out for a land grab and won't be satisfied until they have every last piece of dirt as theirs.
Second, Hamas started this crap with their daily bombing of Israel and her citizens. If they can't take it, they shouldn't have started it.
Israel has every right to defend herself and for those of you who don't like it, why don't you go fight for Hamas, a terrorist organization, that brags, BRAGS about using civilians as shields.
As far as chemical weapons, who cares? I say it's about time Israel bombed the snot out of Hamas and eliminate the idiots with extreme prejudice, in any manner they choose.

And was Hamas in the United Nations school which Israeli forces bombed and killed 30 civilians?! the answer is no according to a UN official who works there. And as I said before, Jews weren't the first to live in that region. there was a country called Palestine. and before the year 1948 arabs (christians and muslims) and jews used to live there in peace until the Zionist movement came in from eastren Europe to establish Israel at 1948 and distrupt the peace in the Middle East region.

So Beth, if some terrorist group attacks a school in your neighborhood and takes 40 kids hostage, does it mean that the police will have a right to go ahead and bomb the school to "eliminate the idiots with extreme prejustice"? Or yeah, maybe they should attack it with phosphor bomb and burn the kids to their bones with phospor? Because according to you any way is appropriate way to fight terrorism.

1) Who broke the truce???
2) who lobbied over 3,000 SYRIAN rockets? Not the Plaestinian as you seem to indicate but Hamas..WHY?
3) If someone were to hit ascholl in my Neighborhood and Civilain domiciles who are not Hiding Weapons nor Terrorists.. YES I would Use Overwhelming Force , alert Civilians to get out and Go to Destroy those Morons who are remenecent of Delusional Libtards in their Hate of Civilized people....

redhawk,
1) Israel broke the ceasefire. Despite extensive israeli propaganda about "terrorist hamas", it's been confirmed, the truth is out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K...h?
v=KntmpoRXFX4
2) not sure what you mean by your question. Why what? Palestinians live in occupation for the last 40 years. Do you have a slight idea what it feels like? What are they supposed to do to give up and bow to the oppressor, who refuse them the basic rights? They fight for their freedom and for their dignity. They fight with what they have. This is not an indication of agression as much as indication of desperate measure, a call for justice.
3) Let me try again. If the terrorist group captures a school in your neiborhood and takes 40 children hostage. They can't leave, they are hostage! Would you go and shell the school and kill the kids? Or would you do everything else possible to save children and eliminate the terrorist? I doubt you would kill your neighbors American kids! So how is it different with Palestinian kids? Where is it their fault?
This is clearly a war crime. Israeli government (not jewish people) is criminal for allowing (or ordering) its army to do that, they are terrorizing Palestinians. And should, must not be excused for doing that.
BTW, you know they changed the story now. Apparently nobody was hiding anything there and nobody was hiding behind kids. So now israeli claiming it was a mistake! At least they should be consistent with their lies.
