I think you just made my point in asking YOU to be the one to do Wake up America's Veterans day post.
Well done.

SPOT ON!
This day and Memorial Day are very difficult days for myself as well.
GREAT post...as usual.

Much obliged, amigo. As I said to spree when she asked me to do this piece (like she REALLY HAD to twist my arm to get me to write something, especially for our troops or vets), it's always an honor to pay tribute to those so deserving of it.

I have been pretty much silent today as I visited hundreds of blogs and web sites...about 60+ moonbat places included...and NOT ONE of them offered any gratitude to our nation's heroes...NOT ONE!!

I deliberately DIDN'T go looking for it today, Snooper, because as I was writing that piece, it occurred to me that in all the years since I've been out, I've had actually only one person that I know personally to thank me for my service, and I got out over 20 years ago. And she's the one who asked me to do today's write up.
And that isn't to say that I go around LOOKING for people thank me, I did it because I thought it was the right thing to do and I'd do it again, but it does say something, methinks.

A few weeks ago I was at Ft Hood at a troop appreciation event and someone gave me a T-shirt that said welcome home.
That was the first time ever that someone thanked me for being blown up.

Welcome home brothers. Thank you for your service.
Thank you! Once again you said exactly what needs to be said.

Unfortunately the population is disconnected with its servicemen. That is bad in many ways, but penalizes the Men individually in a very unfair way.Why this is might be a interesting issue for a different post.
This is your space. Respect to the servicemen for their sacrifice
