I know the feeling. In 2000, at the age of 46, I played hockey for the winter. I hadn't played since I was 17. I had forgotten about some of those muscles that hadn't been subject to a serious workout in 29 years. When I got home from the first night on the ice, the missus pretty much laughed her you know what off! Most of us were in the 40 plus age group, so alot of wives and girlfiends had a good laugh also.
But it was fun! Even when getting checked into the boards. That hurt but it was a good hurt. It was the one hour a week we could go back to when we were kids on a frozen pond somewhere on the Northern Plains.
It may have hurt, but we loved it.
