Read the commenting rules carefully because they will be enforced!
As I was saying earlier, "It's amusing to see Glenn Greenwald set up the same exact straw men that he has accused the war's supporters of doing."
In this case, it's the amazing "Anyone who said the war was doing well before can't be credible when they say the war is doing well now" argument, the same "shoot the messenger" tactic that Greenwald's been so very eager to ascribe to the Beltway pundits, Fox news and the right-wing blogs.
The Left, ladies and gentlemen, is getting desperate. I'd like to see Greenwald spend eight days in country...hell, I'd pay to see him spend eight minutes in a mess hall in an Iraq forward camp reading one of his columns aloud to the men and women there...I think the guilt alone would shut him up after two, max.
Here are guys who have gone over there and asked questions and seen for themselves that things have improved markedly in 2007, and that victory is most certainly within our reach if we are only willing to persevere.
But as I have said before, the Dems are in bed with the idea of defeat. And as more and more uncomfortable truths keep appearing, proving the Democrats bet against the greatest country on Earth and the men and women who protect it, the worse the reckoning will be for them.
And they know it. They know we won't forget. They know we won't forgive. They know they're in more than a little trouble.
They're scared. And they have every right to be.
The better be scared because they will never be allowed to live this down. Them wanting to throw in the towel while our troops are busting ass and winning.
They deserve everything they get and more.
Elections are going to be FUN this time around--those that stayed home before PROBABLY won't be as likely to do so again--they'll want to get these idiot defeatists "OUTTA THERE"!
