From Cassie in my email:
Iron Your Own damn shirt
They do have no iron shirts now, please let clinton & them know.
Nancy Reagan has more experience than clinton does.
As for her opportunities for this Country I think she had that chance many times over.
Nor is clinton capable of right & wrong. No question that she is a woman. But if one votes for her because of her gender only, then we have problems.
And clinton is no Maggie Thatcher.
Maybe instead of gender we should go for qualifications.
If anyone can tell me her qualifications I would be thrilled to hear them.
And Mrs. Bill Clinton isn't one of them.

I correct myself:
Apparently this was a radio-show stunt by a pair of idiots. Still.... it does seem odd that hillary appears to have been quite prepared to 'handle' the 'heckling.'

This was a stunt, one that Hillary seemed prepared for. She played the girly card earlier in the day and here she clearly played the feminist card, talking about the glass ceiling and all.
I was in my mid-20's when Clinton took office. These people can cry on a dime and stage events like professionals. They are actors. They were hardly EVER spontaneous unless they were chewing someone out.
Check out my entry of long ago that talked about media staging of the Clintons.

Reminds me of when my then 8yo son told me he wasn't going to clear the table because that was women's work--and when asked what he would do when he grew up, his response was 1) get married or 2) hire someone.
He's now 16--yes, the getting ready for his license kid--and he knows how to cook quite well, can do dishes within an inch of their lives, scrubs a toilet sparkling, sews his own buttons and seams, does his own laundry, dusts, vacuums (and then steam cleans the carpets), scrubs tile on his hands and knees--in short, all the "women's work". He learned the hard way not to make that kind of comment in a single parent home. He cooked the entire Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners last year--he didn't like what I planned so I told him fine, cook it himself. Best turkey I've ever had.
As for my daughter(s)? The oldest is starting her own business with me (the website) while raising 3 kids under 6 and pregnant with #4 and possibly #5, invests like a whiz kid (I'd LOVE her portfolio), can fix anything around the house (loves her power tools--gets that from me, I guess) and can yank, tear down and re-assemble an engine with her eyes closed--and have the darn thing running better than intended. The youngest is learning from her older sister.
Gender card my butt. The kids only played it once--they learned not to play it more than that.

Oh, and they all know how to sew and iron...lol...and my oldest is a pharmacy technician with an open admission to pharmacy school. For fun, she's also a spanish and ASL interpreter on call.
I love my kids, so much--but no gender cards are allowed.

No, there was a bad delay in posting. I thought you may have had moderation going.
Although I do need sleep.
I grew up in the 70's/80's and my mother was a burn your bra NOW feminist. That's why Hillary turns me off. I smell feminism a mile away and it isn't pretty.

Um, how are you with socks, Amy?
Seriously, my grandmothers made sure that each and every one of their grandsons could do their own laundry, ironing, mending, cooking, and cleaning as we were all growing up. Came in handy during basic training in the army, I tell you...lol. They also made sure that their granddaughters could do minor home repairs.
A simple thing, really, when looking back on it, but considering that my OWN son can't thread a needle, doesn't know what an iron looks like, and sometimes can recall where the clothes hamper is (he needs to be very, very grateful he lives with his mother is all I can say at this point about all THAT), maybe it wasn't such a simple thing at all...
