$\"Gravatar\"$ Burris was wrong to accept the appointment. There are others who should be considered for the senate seat and they understand that it is wrong to accept an appointment by Blagojevich. I believe Burris has made a poor and unethical decision. He has undermined the efforts to get Blagojevich to resign as requested by many incuding Obama. The senate seat should remain vacant until an appointment can be made thru an election or some other legal, ethical and appropriate method. Let's not forget the outrage over Blagojevich's antics which had been well known in Illinois for quite a while. How can anyone rationalize that anything Blagojevich is doing is acceptable. The valuable time of the country's senate and others has been wasted with this guy. The 'knee jerk' reaction and statements by those in authority including Obama are irresponsible. When Obama said that Blagojevich should resign others seemed to have respected this and it appears, did not entertain an appointment to the senate. But Burris seems to have no problem with ignoring Obama and the government's attempts to deal with this mind blowing standoff. We need leaders to be more thoughtful when commenting on issues and events occuring in the world. Consistency is essential otherwise the path forward is not clear.

Until he is found guilty of a crime, he is still the Governor of Illinois, and has the right, under the LAW, to appoint the successor to,.... PEBO.

I, and most who believe in the Constitution, say that Mr. Burris should be seated.
