$\"Gravatar\"$ God this makes me ill..I was looking for the case from a few years ago here in the united states where a father stabbed his 17 yo to death--while her mother and sister held her down--for about the same thing.

And this is what people call a religion of love and peace? Where are the women's/human rights activists? Why aren't they speaking out and protesting this barbaric custom? How many more women have to die at the hands of their male relatives--here on this continent--male relatives who it's obvious are misogynistic women haters? UGH!

This one happened back east after 9/11--I think the daughter was between 14-17--and even the younger sister, who helped her mother hold her sister down to be murdered, bragged about how brave her parents were and how bad her sister was and her sister \"deserved\" to be killed.

It just makes me want to throw up. And, it goes back to what, about a week ago, when you had the post about mothers killing their children.

I will never in a kazillion years understand the mindset--even the ancient mayans and aztecs, with their child sacrifices, honored the \"victims\" in the year before their sacrifice and made the deaths as pain free as possible--still something totally foreign to us but how much more humane than this barbarity?

That was where Dean got the video on the violent oppression of women--the one youtube pulled (wonder if CAIR was behind that, too?). It's flat enough to turn your stomach.

I referred to Spree's article, I think it was last week, about mothers killing their infants and how that seems to be growing and I simply don't understand it. I've seen enough autopsies of infants (my first was a 6 week old infant girl) from abuse and just cannot understand. Yes, I understand exhaustion, frustration, PPD, PTSD and people snapping. I can't understand deliberately killing females for \"honor\"--premeditatively killing them or mutilating them for \"culture\" or anything like that.

Unfortunately, the more we appease the barbarians out there (and no, I'm not including all muslims by any means, I truly mean the barbarians) the more of this we're going to see on our shores. It's already become an acceptable defense in Germany and Britain and I want to know how far people are going to bend over to allow this nonsense to go on before groups that are so concerned over carbon footprints and offsets get just as rabid over stuff like this. I mean, let's get priorities straight!

it appears the majority of these are in specific areas of the muslim world, not in the entire muslim world.

Just because, though, someone is female does NOT give a male relative all rights to body, soul, mind, etc. over them and THAT'S something I'll never understand. The poor souls who do try to assimilate are the very ones being killed. And I ask again, at least on these shores, on this continent, WHERE ARE THE WOMEN'S RIGHTS/HUMAN RIGHTS GROUPS RAGING about this stuff? Surely this is far more important than the goracle charging $6600/minute for his global scamming--and priorities need to be put right.

Nowhere in the Bible is it written that it is OK to kill your kid or females becuase they stray from the religious doctrines enshrined in Christianity. So to compare the women who kill their kids becuase they snap and this incident (or all the others like it) is foolish and dangerous. It marginalizes the fact that Muslim religion says it is OK and necessayr to kill any and all that disagree with them.
