I'm surprised you see them as heroes. The rest of your right wing clan seems to view them as cowards (especially that Medal of Honor winner on MSNBC).
It's refreshing when you step out of the mold.

I told you before Greg, just because I DO agree with quite a bit of what my fellow conservatives believe does not mean I, or they, cannot think on our own.
It is what I meant when I said Dems like to walk in lockstep with each other at the cost of their own brain, conservatives think it through then form their OWN opinions.
Other than waking up on 9/11 and understanding that my disagreements with conservatives were minor and small compared to the issue of national security which I found my fellow liberals (at the time) extremely complacent about, I also realized that they would "stick together" even when they knew they were wrong and it endangered lives.
I found that unacceptable then, so I switched parties and I still find it unacceptable now.
It is when I grew up and saw the world as it is, instead of how I wanted it to be.
They are heroes and just because some will focus on the mistakes that were made does not mean anyone wished them harm.

Spree....you were a....Democrat?
I've got to admit, as frustrated as I've been with the Republicans in recent years I've never even been tempted to go that direction!

Yup. Most of the conservatives I know used to be Democrats.
I found that the issues I disagreed with conservatives with were far less important that those I disagreed with liberals on.
My priorities changed as I grew older.
