This combination could win, but do we think they would be the best the US has to offer as far as leadership? I like them both, don't get me wrong, but it is just sad that we might have to elect someone just because they are 'electable' rather than because the are the best men for the job. Of course these two may be the best men for the job, I don't know. It's early yet.

Thanks and personally I disagree with many of their stances as well as agree with others. They may not be the "best" but in todays world of politics, being the best is sometimes a liability...it is VERY unfortunate but god help us it is the truth.
I do have to say though, it is refreshing to see honesty in politics,even when it is unpopular.
We do need more honest politicians.

Ahem...
Has anyone approached Fred Thompson?
I know I tend to be partial to Tennesseans because I am one (we don't talk about Al Gore though, other than with dismay and amazement...) but I have heard his name mentioned a couple of times recently on talk radio.
Might be worth looking into.
