Gravatar Yeah, she brought McCain all of two points in the convention bounce. And she raised $8 million in one night for the Democrats. Thanks Sarah!

Gravatar Pelagius - care to lay a $100 bet on who will win the presidential race now? Liberal bashing of Palin is not only taking its toll on Obama, but a sure-fire sign of fear and panic among the Democratic Party. Unless you're willing to bet on the outcome of this race, your flawed statistical analysis is rubbish.

Gravatar Obama is scared. He can't attack her openly, for she has more experience than he does, and women will turn on him in a heartbeat. And if others attack her Obama still looks bad.

So he will have to try and ignore her. You can't ignore a woman.

Gravatar Agree with all of Katie's points. And LOVE what the PUMA's are saying....

Gravatar to Katie and Brat =D

Gravatar Wow inpressive $8 million. I guess Oprah is worried about the McCain/Palin ticket too!

Gravatar impressive sorry

Gravatar From Patterico:

... I agree with Ingraham that this was a planned moment by the Obama campaign. It can hurl inflammatory criticism, denounce it and look principled.

In fact, one of the few tactics that seems to be working for Barack Obama occurs when someone on his behalf says something that he can then denounce. This tactic made Obama look principled … until he did it so many times that now it just makes him look like a hapless chief executive who can’t control a reckless staff and surrogates.

Clinton had "bimbo control" .. Obama has "'pre-planned low level staff failure' control"

Gravatar LOL Neo=D

Gravatar people tuned into to listen to this woman because nobody (including yourselves if you were honest about it) has ever frickin' HEARD of her before last week. now we have. the "bounce" on repub-leaning rasmussen was modest at best. the rest of the statisticians know that the honeymoon is officially over, and want to finally know her stance on everything ranging from health care to unemployment being at a 5 year high. how about telling us your solutions for the iraq war, guantanamo, pakistan, a trillion dollar deficit, global warming and alternative energy??? "drill, baby drill" sounds more like a pep rally cry than a longterm solution. and belittling obama's achievments as a mere "community organizer" is as disingenous as any liberal belittling her achievements as nothing more than sports caster or beauty queen. she should know better. obama is a frickin' U.S. senator! palin can try to distract people crying "wolf" about the "elite media" and parade her pregnant daughter in front of cameras to gain sympathy all she wants. but americans want answers -- especially after the last 8 disasterous years. i know one thing: if you're a woman who doesn't want the government deciding your reproductive freedoms for you, don't vote palin. makes as much sense as a chicken voting for colonel sanders!

Gravatar I just CANNOT believe how dumb and ignorant the "typical" American voter here is. That's why we are in such a mess, today. WAKEUP, AMERICA ... Stop believing all the B.S. Do you really want an ex POW in office which probably suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, and who knows what else? Or, in the alternative, a politician who preaches "morality" to
America, but can't seem to take the time to teach it to her own children!!

Gravatar I do prefer McCain to a dangerous liar like Obama, yes. McCain has proven he puts the country before his career and Obama has proven the opposite, time and time again.

McCain has offered his life to this country, Obama has not. McCain has shown with his years of experience he can work across the aisle, Obama has not.

Maybe you need to take the blinders off and wake the hell up.

Gravatar Hello,
I can not beleive you all republicans...the people who talk "Couuntry first"...are a bunch of hypocrats.... This country was/is in trouble for the last 7 years...and the person gone along with the policies that made us into this mess...and he needs a second chance. I used to like McCain, I am an early contributer to his campaign, but later he changed his colour.

With that histroy of the group brought us in this hole...

The republican party is not any more for the country...even the country is in the drain...even if this great country goes to do....being bullied by bearish Russia...we republicans will stick with the people resposible for the mess...man talk about loyalty...is it is for the country ...or our own stupid ideology.

When did we started forgeting about our country...and started thinking only about our party...I do not mind...but anybody else....we could not find a person who was not involved in these messup. So we deserve to loose this election...Palin..I could not belive...we change our principle...for her...for living..unethically...teasing the community organizing as a big joke...we cheered... I can not believe
we did that. for what...for an incompetent person for the VP....because she is one among us we cheered her...

I feel guilty about it...sorry. I m not going to vote for anybody in this election

Gravatar YES OBAMA IS REALIZING HE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE WHEN HE DIDNT PUT HILLARY ON AS VP. HE AND HIS COHORTS ARE TOO GOOD FOR HILLARY. SOOOOOO. I LIKE PALIN. EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING IN THEIR PAST. JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED. MCCAIN AND PALIN HAVE THE EXPERIENCE TO RUN THIS COUNTRY MUCH MORE THAN OBAMA AND WE ALL KNOW HIS PAST. CANT WAIT FOR NOVEMBER 4. A MCCAIN=PALIN LANDSLIDE. IF I WERE HILLARY I WOULDNT CAMPAIGN FOR OBAMA THE WAY THEY HAVE TREATED HER. A FORMER HILLARY SUPPORTER VOTING FOR MCCAIN AND PALIN PROUDLY . PALIN MADE THE TICKET. SMART MOVE ON MCCAINS PART. THE WOMEN IN THE COUNTRY HAVE A CHANCE NOW TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED.

Gravatar McCain is 72 years old and vying for 'the' most stressful job in the world. The likelihood of his fulfilling his term; the averages are against him. Many are talking about how pretty his running mate Palin is, how she LOOKS! What we should be asking is does she have the intelligence to truly grasp the reins of the Presidency in our most dire times. We all have seen what a President who is over his head can do to a nation.

The candidates speak often about patriotism and strength. History has taught us that we must have economic strength before we can have military strength. We truly need both in the challenges we face as a Nation. Just ask the men and women who have served in Iraq and come home to be discarded because the military cannot afford to help them. The military hardware has to be kept to keep those still fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan in the battle. The families of the returning soldiers are left to deal with the physical and mental scars of war. It's a choice no one wants to make, nor our Nation wants to face. The men and women who have returned are still in a battle, for them only the field has changed.

Should McCain be elected, there is a greater than average likelihood that we are looking at the true next President in Palin. Out of the three candidates running she appears to be the least educated and the most unqualified. If McCain is the Nation's choice, America we may be in trouble. We'll have the prettiest leader in the world and quite likely may be more overwhelmed than Bush. I don't hate Bush like many do, I truly believe that he did the best he could. No one would want history to remember them as America's worst President ever. Like Bush, Palin loves this country too but if elected will she change history for Bush and take his place as (arguably) the worst President in our Nation's history. We owe it to our country not to be bowled over by the hype and look at the substance of this candidate. This is a country of two great parties who believe in their candidates, but we are the people not run by a party but by our beliefs of what's best for this country. I have my vote and I will do my best to use it wisely. I won't be bowled over by party lines, personalities or fear of terrorism. I have to make the best choice for the future of my children and the country that I will leave behind for them. What ever happens we will all have to support the choice of the people and the consequences of our choice as a people. Our economic and world strength as well as the future of the generations to come depend on the choices we will make. Let us all listen to the debates and read the positions of the candidates. History cannot repeat the past eight years for our country. Whoever the candidate we chose to lead our Nation, if we chose wrong our country as a world leader will not survive.

Gravatar Obama has female problems. He disses Hillary Clinton by not choosing her for VP, refuses to even vet her for the job -- but now is on his knees begging Hillary to destroy Sarah Palin. It's deliciously ironic. The deep divisions in the Democratic Party have been carved by Obama himself, though his lack of loyalty to Hillary. I've switched my vote from Obama/Biden to McCain/Palin. Palin has an 85 percent approval rating among Alaskans (my Alaskan friends call it an "adoration level"). She's loyal to her constituents.

Obama is loyal to one person -- himself.

Gravatar Once again, all the "objections" being made about Palin are the exact same objections that are legitimate against Stinky. The difference is, people--she is running for VP, HE is running for Pres.

What part of that don't y'all understand?

Gravatar "IF I WERE HILLARY I WOULDNT CAMPAIGN FOR OBAMA THE WAY THEY HAVE TREATED HER"

remember the way all republian establishment treated McCain.....I m sorry...I m waiting for another Regan...otherwise...I m not voting.

We need a defeat...then only we learn....otherwise...we become uncivilized and the country will go back....may be 15 years...

Gravatar WAY tired of this bullshit talking point. Get new material and figure out some facts before bringing any more drivel and crap here.

Gravatar O BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH so did anyone hear who McCain picked for VP?

Gravatar ROFL!!!! No who???/ hehe

Gravatar LOL Nicole!

Seriously, though, it's very interesting how the LSM is concentrating on Sarracuda--while writing McCain's obit and dismissing him. Says a lot of where their fears truly lie. And, where is No Brain at the moment? Seems he's in hiding....

Gravatar In a contest between Sarracuda and Nobama, the lady wins hands down.

Gravatar Morons...you're a bunch of morons. Having the tar beat out of you doesn't make you a hero or make you worthy of presidency. There is a reason McPain was captured. He didn't listen to orders, went to far, and was shot down. Not because he was a great man or patriotic, but because he is and was a dumb ass. Oh, and quit saying Obama is scared. That's also just a dumb bully statement. Wake up! Am I the only one who seems the similarities between Palin and Cheney. VP's with guns. If McPain doesn't croak from old age maybe Palin will shoot him in between the eyes.

To Donna: you wanna talk about loyalty? Hypocrite.

Gravatar Gee Amber, show your ignorance much?

Gravatar Amber, your fear is showing as is all the other Obamabots. I LOVE it!!!!

Gravatar Amber, sounds like you're really angry! John McCain is perfectly healthy -- not to worry. But your obsession with death might be a warning signal. Angry people like you die young from self-inflicted stress. Try being tolerant of opposing views and lose the ad hominem attacks, which detract from your arguments. Chill out with some chamomile tea, sweetie. Good luck to you!

("ad hominem" means "personal")

Donna

Gravatar Donna, you just reminded me of something--thank you.

John McCain has released all his medical records for public scrutiny, the good, the bad and the ugly. When will Stinky release HIS medical records and what is he hiding? I trust McCain even MORE for having the courage to release his records, pre-emptively as it were, than I do in someone so much younger who refuses to release his--even when asked.

Gravatar Maybe his real birth certificate is in his medical records. Or maybe the world will find out that he has balls the size of peas.

Gravatar I'm registered republican. Don't know why, they must of made me pick. However, I don't vote for someone based on which party campaigns for them. I have always had my doubts about Obama. I see a man - about as black as I am. And a lot more white than I. In other words, (I'm surprised noone has brought this term up) He's an oreo. I'm Amer-Asian. I was actually raised knowing my "roots". We ate Korean cuisine 6 days a week and on Sundays my father cooked the typical roast or whatever. Because of my looks, I was the target (though not victim) of much racial teasing and even hate. However, I don't ever remember whining about my life. It made me strong.
Yet, even though Obama was pretty much raised by his grandparents, he rarely speaks of his family. He puts the mother that dumped him on his grandparents on a pedestal, speaks more of the bum father who never had anything more to do with him - (as if he were some kind of great black figure in his life) than he does of the people who actually raised him and had the greatest influence on him. His grandparents. Instead he mentions how his grandmother had a fear of black men.
Obama is a man who has no heritage. He has no roots. He doesn't know who he is and keeps trying to find it in radical black churches, etc. Instead of digging down and realizing that it's not about his color. It's about him and what is inside him.
For these reasons, I have gone from hesitant about Obama to total dislike of the man. Not to mention - am I the only one who thinks he looks like a brown version of that guy on the cover of Mad Magazine? Or is it howdy doodie?
I didn't have an opionion of McCain. He either never really had much to say earlier on in the campaigning, or the media didn't follow him much. But, the more I hear him talk - the more I realize that - although I don't agree with all he has to say - I get the vives of an honest man. Being an army brat, married to military and mother of a son on his way back to Iraq for the 3rd time - I feel safer with a veteran who not only served his country, but one who knows what it's like to be captive and knows the worst of the war. He will not send our children off to battle without a personal empathy for those soldiers.
Barack can't even show his family respect, my child would be just another number to him. He's already turned GOB. Changing his mind on this and that, and wanting to send our soldiers to Afghanistan.
As if Afghanistan is safer? It's all about the oil. Wake up. Basically, it's not about the individuals. It's more about the USA as a whole. And the fact is, we need to control oil. So, neither party is going to give a damn about your child's welfare, your health insurance, your job, any of that. It's all about the group as a whole and we're all dispensable when it comes to that.
I don't like it, you don't like it and we're not going to change it. I would like to think my son is fighting to protect us from terrorism, but I know it's something more important to us - it's that almighty dollar and how much gas it will get us. Sad but true. So, do we need to clean up the mess Bush got us into? Hell yes. I wish we could just pull our troops out and to heck with the other countries. It's going to take a good president to get us out of the worse financial disaster of the century - by the worst president ever. If Hillary were running instead of Obama, I'd be voting for her. She has more balls than he. And we need a leader with balls.

Gravatar Hillary has the experience for the job, Biden has the experience for the job, Edwards has the experience for the job, Huckabee has the experience for the job. Obama has a speech.

I'll remember your son in my prayers as he goes to his third tour in Iraq.

Gravatar FINALLY!!! A site that is republican friendly! What scorches me is: Obama's camp has the gall to diss Sarah for using a speak writer's words, when we all know that when left to his own devices, Obama can't say a sentence without losing his line, and stuttering.... not to mention all the "borrowed" lines he's used!

Gravatar Crystal it is all they have left because they know how much trouble they are in.

Gravatar Beth, you're right about Obama's refusal to release his own medical records. He has admitted to being a heavy smoker. What is he hiding?

John McCain's military service is the reason that I'll be voting for McCain/Palin. We're at war and we need a military expert at the helm to guide us through the next few years.

Connie, I am very grateful for your son's service to our country. Thank you. I, too, will keep him and your family in our prayers.

Gravatar Let's see what he's hiding:

Lung cancer
High Blood Pressure
Diabetes

I could make this a long list.

Gravatar Since I don't drink the kool aid... I have a hard time voting for someone running for President that has been sitting in a "Black Liberation Theology" church for over 20 years. They HATE white people. So you're telling me he's for all people....sure. Like I said, I don't drink the kool aid.

McCain/Palin '08

Gravatar Nicely put Sue

Gravatar I've been raised in a very conservative, southern home. I was drug to church every Sunday as a child. As a teenager I left the church due to the hypocrisy I saw in it. Once I reached my twenties I returned due to the realization that church isn't a perfect place. It is merely a place where like-minded people come together to worship and engage each other. I don't always agree with what I hear in church, but I do understand everyone's right to an opinion. That is what this board is. A political church, so to speak. We have the Obamists and the McCainists. Two separate views. Who's right? We will never know for sure because we will only see one side win. It's a shame we can't go back to the days that the person in 2nd place at the end of the race became the VP. A type of check and balance.
I will vote for Obama b/c of his belief in the right to choose. Because abortion is a nasty, evil thing but unfortunately there are times it is necessary. And if it is not legal and regulated then it will only become more horrific. He will also attempt to end a war that I believe is unjust and focus on finding the true terrorist who attacked our country (Bin Laden).
I also think that his lack of time in D.C. is a plus. Hopefully, it means he has had less time to be corrupted. I hope, he will even aspire to being the next JFK. Of course, that is only my hope. I could be wrong. We all could.
McCain on the other hand is full of knowledge of how D.C. works and covered in the scars of war. I believe he is a honorable man and a valued soldier of our country. But, I think his vision for our country is flawed.
Whoever wins, change will happen. It always does. Whether it is for good or bad is yet to be seen in either case. Vote wisely.
JH

Gravatar JH, he is a Chicago politician. They are as corrupt as they come. I know, I live right outside Chicago.

Gravatar You assume he is corrupt b/c of where he is from and who he has met in his life. Unless he is proven, through a verified investigation, you should not assume that he is. To do so is just another form of bias.
We do not personally know either candidate so we can not say if they are or are not corrupt. So we must make our judgement by what we see on the camera and what they say. Their position on the ISSUES are what should count.

Gravatar And what are his positions? Answer that. And explain his associates and associations. Explain those away. Where there's smoke there's fire and his fire is blazing. There's nothing there but a whole lot of hot air and socialist desires. Explain Annenberg. Explain the community he was supposedly helping (supposedly as a volunteer but it comes out as a paid worker) still being blighted and basically war torn. Explain why he's hiding documents which have been asked for. Explain why he's being sued because he may not be eligible to run as a candidate. Explain why McCain freely turns over his medical records and Obama hides his.

Go ahead, try to explain it all away. He can't do it, but I suppose you can?

Gravatar The New York Times reports that Obama asked female politicians to help him respond to Gov. Palin's charges against him. If Palin's charges are false, why doesn't he simply respond himself? The fact is -- he is afraid to stand up to a woman during a Presidential campaign. This man is not qualified to be Commander in Chief of the U.S. military.

And the statistics bear this out:

Senatorial experience:

John McCain -- 21 years
Barack Obama -- 3.5 years

Military Experience:

John McCain -- 22 years of service
Barack Obama -- 0 years of service.

John McCain has 43 years of combined military/senatorial experience. Barack has 3.5 years of senatorial experience (much of which was spent campaiging for another job).

These are facts, not opinion.

It is no surprise that Democrats are crossing party lines to vote for John McCain for President of the United States.

Gravatar I agree that where one stands on issues is important. Unfortunately, most politicians only support what they believe to be popular, not what they truly believe. That's why we the public tend not to like it when a politician flip flops.
What I don't understand is why it matters where a politician stands on abortion. I personally do not believe in abortion - for myself. But, I am not going to tell someone what to do with their body.
It's a redundant argument. And before we abolish abortion, maybe we should make it mandatory for women to have their tubes tied at 40 so they don't have problem pregnancies. At the risk of coming off as totally callous.... Which is more immoral, killing an unborn child or bringing a crippled or handicapped child into the world when you know the odds are strongly against having a healthy normal child???? On the one hand we have the immature kid wanting to grasp adulthood by bearing children, because they can - and on the other hand we have the adult trying to recapture or hang on to the last thread of youth by having a baby before menopause, because they can.
Stones could be thrown either direction on that one. Bottomline, I can't applaud or condemn another for a decision that emotionally will affect their future not mine.
I can only concern myself with what a politician is going to try to do to improve my country's future.

Gravatar And just what the bloody hell does this idiocy have to do with the post at hand? We're all familiar with urban legends and coincidences. Get on topic or get the hell out of here.
