Ed already using the man's death to plug a political view. Tony Snow was a Press Secretary, and media figure - not a political activist for a non-socialist America. If you judge his performance as a Press Secretary, it was either poor from the perspective of his fomenting alienation and distrust, or excellent from the perspective of being able to quickly deflect the nonsense of issues and re-phrase them to get to the heart of the matter. If anything, the man should be remembered for the courage and self-will (as a sick man) in his attempt to be a Press Secretary at one of the most politically difficult times in recent memory.

i knew tony snow when he was a kid, not that this is anything special. he was a person, with good and bad aspects to his personality and personae. he tried to be good person as well as he could define that. now he is on the other side of this existence, and maybe sees what where he was right and where he was wrong, as all of us will. sympathies to those he left behind who are grieving.
