Obama indeed failed miserably during this, first parroting Russia's line, then confirming McCain's. This is Obama's picture in the tank, the 3 AM moment both the Dems and the GOP knew Obama had no business being involved in.
I honestly believe this is the tuning point for McCain's campaign. He's clearly on the attack now, Obama's on vacation during a crisis, and the difference between Obama in the White house and McCain is now painfully clear, laid bare for all the world to see.
Obama has been weighed, measured, and found wanting for the position.

Thanks Debbie and everyone for your comments on this. I think it showed Obama's inexperience clearly and his instincts to be way off on a very important issue.
It's getting embarrassing to even read about how ignorant, inexperienced and woefully unprepared Obama is.
He's scary in that his megalomania--and the desire of those who wind him up daily to get even with America for electing GWB to office--overrides any common sense and sense of national security he or his supporters had, if ever they actually had that.
