One has to take these numbers with a truck load of salt, they are meaningless. When they make these phone calls for these polls, they don't consider who they are calling. What we know is, that most young people don't use land lines, but cell phones.
We also know, that these polls don't call cell phones, but land lines. The day I take these polls serious, is the day they include cell phones.

Stefan, the trends over the last 3 months have all shown the same thing in the polls. A poll or two, a week or month is one thing, when polls over a period of months start saying the same thing, that is called a trend and even though it is only the here and now, trends ARE an accurate gauge of opinion.
Denying it, doesn't change it.

Going to be a landslide when the Republicans get ahold of the guy that had endorsements from The New Black Panther Party and Ludacris - http://nationalsquib.com/index.p...obama-ludacris/

It's a guide, a snapshot...but then again so is the election itself.
The trend is that Obama has run out of steam. The Wright controversy has cost him his lead, and the more the Dems fight, the more damage will be done.
The most notable numbers? A quarter of Obama supporters would back McCain over Clintonm but a full third of Clinton supporters would now back McCain over Obama.
John McCain will be the next President of the US. By this fall it will be readily apparent that the Democrats are done.

Let's hope so. But we all know it's not over 'till it's over.
I'm skeptical of polling as well.

Susan, it's a trend of land line phone polls.
The other problem with polls is, they always change. Another problem is, which poll to take serious, it's amazing how 3 different polls coming out the same day, have three different results.
When a poll is conducted, people don't take into account when, where the poll was taken, and by whom.
@ Richard, being endorsed by one group or another has no bearing on a campaign, all that needs to be done is, denounce them. Republicans have had endorsement from hate groups, does that mean Republicans are now hate people?
@ Lightwave, Obama has anything but run out of steam, depending on which poll you look at, some polls show the Wright controversy has done nothing to harm him. As for McCain, he is in my opinion, no match for Obama. McCain doesn't even know the difference between the Sunnis and the Shiites. How is he going to handle Obama is a presidential debate? He is too old, and doesn't even know what's going on half the time, he has to have someone standing next to him during news briefs to correct him.

Obama can try to separate himself from his pastors words, or his spiritual advisers words (meeks) OR his other spiritual mentor )phleg, and Dem supporters might be idiotic enough to let him get away with it in the dem race for the nomination, but he can NEVER get away from his OWN racial rants, and in the general election, he will be nailed to the wall for them.

The only poll that counts is the one on the 1st Tuesday in November. That's the one in which McCain will come out ahead of everyone.
