A part of this bill that is getting little publicity is the legislation that was "snuck" into it, being:

The astronomical tax on cigars to generate the money needed! NO JOKE! This will put independent tobacco shops across this country out of business and also cost thousands more their jobs. And we're not talking about a 20% tax increase here.....I've heard 75% to 125% tax!! Tobacco shops have been a staple of this nation since its inception - dating back to the American Indians! Is it apropos that this government attaches such a proposal to a "CHILDREN'S HEALTH BILL"? Judging by the state of our national public education system alone, we all should know that "children", in this case, is but political talk. Everyone in this country ought to consider disaffiliating from any political party, as all actions have indicated that neither one is "in touch" with the people and real issues of this great land.

Thanks for the mention. This is an excellent job you have done here breaking down the details. For the life of me, I cannot understand what Congress is thinking. Every time they trot out "it's for the c-h-i-d-r-e-n ..." I cringe.
