After Spitzer has squandered away around $80,000 on hookers......I guess the real question is what should his wife do now ? I have great ideas for her

CJA, what planet do YOU live on?
Eliot Laurence Spitzer (born June 10, 1959) is an American lawyer and politician of the Democratic Party.

Being a Democrat, he will go into rehab and appear again in 60 days to run for some office in the Democratic party. They will welcome him with open arms
Maybe they will make him the Vice Chairman of the new the Vice Department.

I noticed his most telling lack of remorse and lack of shame--the only thing that bothered him was he got caught. It's not even about the freakin' sex, but because HE BROKE THE LAW...and he was going to try to retain his office???? Who's he taking lessons from, Bubba?
And, CJA, not only are you flying in outer space, but you obviously can't read---Susan quoted a GOP press release. Besides, the Republicans tend to be ruthless in cleaning our own house (with the exception of Larry Craig, who has gone against the general party wishes)--it's the Dems who refuse to be accountable and think they're above the law.
Maybe that's why he wanted to give licenses to illegals--he knew this was coming down and he figured he could count on the illegal vote to keep him in office regardless of what he did.

I feel really bad for spitzer...
I'm in no way thinking what he did is right (no matter how hot the "others" are), but who among here isn't guilty of a bad deed or two? Granted he's a public figure and should have been more careful but as a guy who've been through a shit load of trouble, I must say I feel darn lucky I'm far from being popular.
Didn't he think about the risks? No more than a cigarette smoker thinks of getting lung cancer, probably. That's how we all are in our weakest and lowest points... Some just get caught with their pants down, some don't.
What's more disturbing for me in cases like these though is the way the general public enjoys the downfall of promising and (pre-scandal) admired individuals. For most of us, seeing someone fall from a place we wished we were in is quite pleasing. Is it right? I dunno. Is it wrong? No idea.
More good points were raised about this in here:

I can't speak for the general public's glee over the fall of this man. In many cases, as you have inferred, people like to see those on top fall. I have had the same vile hatred thrust upon me in my business, publishing.
However, in this case Spitzer has received his comeuppance. He has systematically destroyed people's lives and careers...many of them completely innocent of what he accused them of and were later, after being destroyed, exonerated from all accusations by Spitzer.
Many think he was the Next Coming when it came to cleansing Wall Street of corruption. Instead, he was a ruthless lawyer, who take great pleasure in destroying people...so much so that he made hundreds of millions doing so...and, as usually the case with such a sick mental condition, he honestly believed he was above the law.
The only thing that bothers me is why his wife still stands by him, after the fact that he has been doing this for many, many years.
No, I don't want his position as Governor, especially of New York, nor do I take great pleasure in seeing him destroyed, like so many of the men he destroyed. I just feel he got his just rewards.

Right on TJ..and no, Jerico, it's NOT just about sex--why don't you look at the bigger issues of his illegal activity and his hypocrisy?

Beth, they would rather it be about sex so they can wave it away, but since their is talk of indicting him... it looks like sex is secondary to his criminal behavior, as it should be.

Miss Beth and Susan – I agree totally, however, it is also about the horrific embarrassment he has brought to his wife and his kids. I can only try to imagine how they must feel living with this hypocritical piece of dung. He should get the book thrown at him for all the legal reasons outlined on Fox News. He deserves exactly what he has done to others on Wall Street and the lives he has ruined. Any bets he gets away with this? The only justice will be if his family throws him to the curb as they should.

Again, John, you are exactly on target--his wife looks completely stunned in the pictures and what about those daughters of his? What kind of message is he sending to them about women as objects? It's simply horrid what he's done to his family.

Spitzer's garbage and a megalomaniac, he's been bad news for years.
It's amazing that he got over 65% of the vote for Governor.
