Gravatar It's an amazing thing, in my mind, to see how far we have come since the days of WWII, when the country was solidly behind the war effort after a catastrophic loss of life at Pearl Harbor. Our nation was attacked, military lives were lost, and the country responded with a resolve to remain vigilant and steadfast until our enemies were defeated. In the early days of the war we were LOSING. But we maintained and we saw it through and we won.

11SEP01 our nation is again attacked, CIVILIAN lives are lost, and four years later we hear "cut and run."

If this is the America of the future, stop the bus right now and let me the hell off so I can go find people with some god damned BALLS to be around.

Gravatar No shit and well said!

Gravatar I laughed my axx off when I saw the picture of that fat bastard carrying the faux injured troop.

Fatty wouldn't even be allowed in my glorious Air Force until he/she dropped about 30 pounds. Ass clown.

Gravatar First, GREAT TITLE! Made me laugh.

Secondly, why is the woman in the picture with the peace sign hiding behind it???

Americans are being turned off by this behavior big time. While people stand by the troops even who disagree with the war, this sort of behavior turns even those people away. The Democratic party is cracking and dividing because of the nuts like you featured in your entry. As disgusting as they are, I say we need more of them!

Spree, did you see my 7 minute video compilation of the war protest? You should! One hippie looks so high she can hardly stand up. And where were all the big HOllywood stars???? Know who was a featured speaker? RAMSEY CLARK! Former U.S. Attorney General who was on Saddam Hussein's Defense Team in Baghdad! And he had the nerve to talk about the Bush administration liking torture! What the hell is he talking about?

The fact is that the more these morons talk, the better it gets for our cause.

Gravatar LOL TJ and yes Amy I did and I hope everyone goes over and watches it!!!!

http://amyproctor.squarespace.co...-war- rally.html

Catchy Title too.

Glad you laughed at the title of my post, I was "annoyed"

Gravatar Spree:
Great post! Let’s see . . .truisms . . . “lay down with dogs and get up with fleas,” “you are known by the company you keep,” and Oh Yes, “if you are not with us then you are against us.” All seems to fit for the Democrats!

Gravatar Hawk:

The public didn't support our efforts during WWII because they were any more (or less) patriotic than we are now. If you're familiar with history you'll know that within 6 months of Pearl Harbor we won two major naval engagements against the Japanese (Coral Sea & Midway). Within 8 months of Pearl we started taking back real estate (Guadalcanal). From then on all a person had to do to see that we were winning was to look at a map.
Contrast this with the situation in Iraq. Up until recently it's been take Fallujah, let it go, retake Fallujah. How many times have we killed the 'Number 2' Al Qaeda guy in Iraq? And yet nothing over there seems to change.
Americans will back a war they see as winnable- witness the first Gulf war. I would submit that most don't see this one that way though.

Gravatar What happens when you take out number two? Number three steps up to fill his place, number four takes the place of number three, so on and so forth. I'd dare say that the number of deaths being so low from our troops in THIS four years speaks volumes compared to the losses of life in single confrontations during WWII.

And yes, it TOOK us six months to start establishing a foothold and begin our island hopping operations in the pacific. Prior to that, we were fighting uphill, so to speak.

And yes, our nation WAS more committed to victory than it is now, the politicians of the day had better sense than to let the American public become divided within, the consequenses of loss are, and were, way too high.

Gravatar The fact that our troop losses are relatively low doesn't mean we're winning the war. In fact, even coming up with a definition of winning in Iraq is a challenge in itself.
You're selling today's Americans short. People are no less patriotic now than during WWII. They just want to win and feel very frustrated with this war.

Gravatar The soldiers themselves will tell you they do not lose a battle they get into.

How do you see the "enemy" winning Greg?

Why are you so fast to disagree with those that are there fighting and saying they ARE winning, just not as fast as YOU and people like you want it to happen?

What do you say to the soldiers that say they are making progress, just not fast enough for your liking?

Are you calling them liars?

.

Gravatar Our soldiers and Marines aren't losing the war. Like spree said, they are winning, engagement after engagement after engagement. Politicians are the ones costing us our victory, just like they did in Nam.

The people of this country need to stop and realize that the President is the commander in chief of the military, not the Congress, and begin DEMANDING that Congress stay the hell OUT of trying to run the military.

Until that happens, ANY military operation is going to be more and more FUBARED as time goes by, and if you're a veteran like you claim to be, you know exactly what I mean by that.

Gravatar Alright Spree!

Gravatar Lose the fast food mentality Greg...

"Our war on terror BEGINS with al Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated."

"This war will not be like the war against Iraq a decade ago, with a decisive liberation of territory and a swift conclusion. It will not look like the air war above Kosovo two years ago, where no ground troops were used and not a single American was lost in combat.

Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success."

Yeah, that was GW in 2001. He was right. It is a war like no other. It is a long war as he warned. It is an enemy like no other. It's everything he said it would be.

Gravatar I picked up the trail on the activities of these anarchists via a link at oregoncatalyst.com and found your post via a google blog search.

You write very well.

The photos of the anarchists signs and some of the regarding posts I've read reminded me of an F.A. Hayek passage about which I then blogged.

The post, titled: "History Repeats Itself: 1933 (Communists vs. Fascists) & 2007 (Socialists vs. Anarchists)" is linked to here.

Many thanks,

Gravatar Thank you Jim, Cerebral and geoff, your sites are good and I am glad I got this chance to visit them.

Great writing.

Gravatar Thank you.

Incidentally, would you be interested in exchanging blogroll links? I've got a pretty liberal policy, I'll blogroll anyone that blogroll's me.

if so, shoot me an email at rightOregon[at]gmail[dot]com

Gravatar Thanks Spree. I always enjoy reading your blog. It's a breath of fresh air to see others telling the libs where they can put their pc/socialist/anti-american/anti-everything crap.
Keep it up!

Gravatar Ever since I found out that our govenment was willing to kill innocent U.S civilians on U.S soil(see project Northwoods)I take EVERYTHING I see and hear from the media and the current government with a grain of salt. It really does change everything when you learn this. Everyone should read this document so you can see why Eisenhower's farewell speech was the way it was.

Gravatar The so-called "greatest generation" blamed the TROOPS not the politicians for Vietnam's outcome.
Even those still living today in 2007 say it was the soldiers' and Marines' fault. Vietnam veterans are still widely hated (and feared) in today's America.

Gravatar Damned straight, I'm afraid of Vietnam Vets. My dad is one, and he would Kick My Ass if I believed the crap our liberals put out. (At 56 years old, and 30 lbs overweight he's still got faster reflexes than me, at 22 and perfectly fit. It's annoying.) Luckily, I'm not stupid enough to take whatever I'm fed by the MSM. Hmm... I wonder if maybe that's because I was actually raised by PEOPLE, and not the tv...

I love my Vietnam Veteran Dad...

Babykillers my ass. Not then, not now. Wake up.

Gravatar Damn Straight Kelly!!!!

Gravatar If people only knew what was really going on over there.

I appreciate your site's name to wake up america, although in theory being a retired veteran I have a different take, but I'll respect your opinion, as others have respected mine.

Gravatar kwiggit, everyones opinion should be respected. We try to bring the voices of those on the ground in iraq to our readers, via interviews with the troops, their emails and their own writings.

Their words mean more than what I see in our media because they are witnesses to the changes happening right now.

my father is also a vietnam vet. he is also a "liberal". and no, he joined up on his own when he could have easily gone to college. and he would tell you, that if you have not seen the elephant, you should not speak of the elephant.

war is hell, it makes men into monsters, some willingly (baby killing, mother raping, family killing blood crazed Haditha Marines) it degrades all of us when someone kills in our name, not to save a life but to save a buck, at the gas pump. and another thing; the MSM is not the problem - HOBSONS CHOICE is. do your country a favor and look up what that is before you get anywhere near a ballot box.

"kwiggit, everyones opinion should be respected. "
and when it conflicts, i hope you respectfully ram it up your pretentious ASS, ALL of you. You're what my father calls circle jerking, chickenshit motherfuckers.

what you REALLY fail to grasp, or acknowledge, is there is no monopoly on moralityethics, of Christ-like benevolence endemic to the American G.I. (in fact, you sound so convinced that one may speculate you believe being born inside U.S. borders makes you a superhuman) - Marines are no less prone to needless bloodshed than any other human male age 18-30 with 6 months of basic, a healthy fear of death, and a soon to be razor-sharp temper.

Gravatar "war is hell, it makes men into monsters, some willingly (baby killing, mother raping, family killing blood crazed Haditha Marines)"

You chose your nick well, Idiot. http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....a- massacre.html

Your analysis of the "murder machines" that you say our military are is way off target. You're trying to play slow pitch softball at a major league baseball game. Our military is more highly trained today than at any other point in its history, all volunteer, and on average well educated.

Oh, and I have seen the elephant...

Gravatar Brilliant post Spree! I love the title on this one...

Gravatar Thanks Ev, I don't usually title my pieces like that but this one deserved it.
