You nailed it. The reason Pelosi and the Dems are so opposed to success in Iraq is that a win in Iraq is a win for Republicans and the Dems just can't have that. They would rather more troops die and we wind up leaving Iraq in defeat and shame as long as the end result is their ascendancy. All that matters is power. God help us.

The blue dogs seem none too eager to follow the yellow bellied Pelosi and crew into oblivion....and what a laugh this proposal will get in the senate.
Here is the actual proposal.

Spree, excellent as always. Democrats are too cowardly to be out with who they really are. They do not want to be responsible for cutting off funding for OIF not because they don't believe in it (they'd love another end to the war like Vietnam), but because they know Americans won't vote for them in '08 if they do.
They're literally stuck between Iraq and a hard place.

Well said and yes they are. I feel NO sympathy for them or their voters though because when elections were near they used the "anything but what Bush says" platform and the voters never bothered to ask "how do you plan on accomplishing this?"
They get what they deserve and the more they play politics in a time of war, the more people will understand why they cannot be trusted with national security.

Eric, since most Dems voted for the war how do you come to this conclusion?

Greg, this is true but the cold hard fact is we ARE there are no one should care more about politics than they do winning the war on terror.
That goes for Republicans AND Democrats alike.
A win in Iraq is a win for Americans, not Republicans or Democrats... both parties ARE Americans after all.
