Montvel-Cohen did not flee to Guam. He has lived the majority of his life here since he was an infant.
He is employed by Sorenson Pacific Broadcasting and was inking a business deal in the Philippines. Upon his return home (to Guam) he was taken into custody.
So, I think the word 'fled' is innacurate, since he has a wife and child here and has also lived on Guam for most of his life.
He originally went to hawaii i believe to get treatment for an alleged brain tumor.
