My personal opinion is that Obama went to the Virgin Islands so he wouldn't have to go to his church. If he went, well, we know how fiery and defensive the new pastor is of Wright (don't t hese people know how to have an EASTER service, not a preacher's service??). Obama couldn't go to that church again. If he were stateside and didn't go, it would look like's contradicting his assertion that he won't leave his church.
So I'm sure Wright (whom I will never refer to as "REV") backed out of his speaking engagements because he really wants Obama to win.
if Obama wins the nomination, look for Wright to come out of the wood work after Jan. 2009.

Yeah, either way, Obama did not go far enough in disavowing Wright and his supporters can deny it all they want, in the general election, that will be an issue.
Not race, but his racists anti-American pastor and his long time close association with him as well as the amount of money his tax returns say he donated.

Just wait until all of the dirt on Wright finally comes out. Here's an interesting link:
http://webofdeception.com/#wright
It looks like the link is implying that Kenny Lewis of Kenny’s Ribs sold some land (parcel# 31-07-404-016) to Rev. Jeremiah Wright for $300K and that Wright sold the land to Trinity church for $10 million at an interest rate 2% over the prevailing interest rate at the time. The land was to be used for Planned Unit Developmemt. I can’t comment on the veracity of the information. Here’s the link for internet sleuths http://webofdeception.com/#wright

Rev. Wright (and he is a Reverend of the best kind), is a man of God who speaks the truth in love. He is great, he speaks the truth, and America cannot come to grips with what they have done. He will be vendicated because the Bible says "touch not my annointed, and do my prophets no harm." The media has done harm to Rev. Wright, and they will pay because God will see to it. Think about this: Rev. Wright is one of God's children, and God will repay EVERYONE who has done him harm. Be careful, and don't be scared of what man can do, be afraid of the wrath of God.

It's not about Wright. Hillary Clinton would become an instant national heroine if she gave a speech exposing Obama's blatant Marxist theology. See:

Wright's dramatically drawn out statement that "Hillary aint never been called a niggerrrrrrrr" is interesting. What's his point? That Barack Obama is a better qualified candidate for president of the USA because he's been called the "N" word?
That Hillary Clinton is a lesser qualified candidate for president of the USA because she's never been called the "N" word?
Did the pastor of Hillary Clinton's church gave a sermon last week in wich she dramatically stated "Barack aint never been called a bittcccccccccch." What was her point? That Hillary Clinton is a better qualified candidate for president of the USA because she's been called the "B" word? That Barack Obama is a lesser qualified candidate because he's never been called the "B" word?
Answer: No, it has not been reported that the pastor of Hillary Clinton's church suggests she (Hillary) is a better candidate because she has been called the "B" word.

Well, if it's not about Wright, leave him alone. He is not running for President, but the media is all of a sudden having a field day with him. He's been at that church for 36 years, why the uproar now? It is a attack on a man because one of his congregants happens to be running for President. Please, we are not all dumb, and those of us who are not will see this for what it really is: an attack to disqualify Obama. As African Americans, we've seen this done to our leaders over and over again, and not only our leaders, everyday people. Laws won't allow the "establishment" to come right out with racism anymore, so they go underground, and use covert tactics to smear people. Wright was right, don't be angry because the man exposes the truth, just pray and repent.

Of course it’s pointless to talk to those like Teresa who think they can get away with defending racist behavior when the racist is black. NOT!

Ken Blackwell is your frame of reference?!? He's just tyring to keep himself in the media as long as possible and hopes people will overlook the last election debacle that occured under his watch. Quoting him is like quoting my two-year-old son. He doesn't speak for the majority of black churches or the majority of African-Americans. Most people don't even know who he is.
Many people are quick to judge a man who they have never met or even heard of until recently on soundbites they heard. Even after the entire sermons have been linked repeatedly to give actual context, people won't admit they were too quick to judge. (Just like Rep. Kingston continuing to challenge Obama's patriotism based on that false pledge of allegiance email.
For the posters:
What gives you the right to judge the 'type' of service held by the church? Just as people like different types of music, people like different styles of worship.
People question the fact that the Obama's gave so much to the church last year--it's called TITHING...
People will reference Hillary's (or McCain's) beliefs without actually knowing what they are--what church do they belong to? Who is the pastor?
Why do people continue to get their 'news' from websites like those mentioned in these posts or emails forwarded by their friends?
As for the Obamas in the VI--could it possibly be due to the fact that this is spring break so his daughters are not in school? He's taken time off to take his wife out to dinner for their anniversary, to spend Valentine's Day with his family, to attend parent-teacher conferences...

I will ask again, and again, and again, until these defenders of black racism can answer this simple question: How much context would the “typical” black person allow if a “typical white” minister used the N-word in a sermon, or referred to black noses???
Now why should Rev. Wright be given any more latitude for his anti-everyone who is not black statements? For example: “The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans.” Source: Wright’s Trumpet News Magazine Nov/Dec 2007 issue!!!
