Rush,
The problems with our current generation of Americans, or Americans who are many generations here is they have never been occupied by a foreign force on their own land. Ask the Europeans what freedom means after occupation of their country by the Germans in WWII. Once freedom is lost because you are subjugated there is no room for politicking or power plays which the Democrats have the LEISURE to engage in because we are not fighting this war on our soil (thank God). But if we go down their path we may indeed have to contend with loss of our sovereignty. Have we forgotten what Appeasement led to with politicians such as Chamberlain and Clemenceau? Germany marching unopposed into sovereign nations! We are naive as Americans who are many generations removed from the ravages of war. No grandparents to tell us stories, what it was like, and of the hardships endured during 2 world wars because we have been lucky to have been spared invasion of our land. The Civil War is the closest we have come to understanding war but again this was not an invasion and subjugation by a foreign army.
May God Bless our armed forces and bring them to a victorious conclusion of their very important mission.
