Many of us don't view him as a former Marine. He is a ex-Marine. He doesn't hold the Marine values as former Marines do. Once a Marine - always a Marine - unless you are a coward like Murtha. That comes from this former Army guy.

I'm wondering, like you, if his peers will ask him to resign or at the very least speak out publicly about this matter.
At the very least maybe it'll encourage a few of our esteemed leaders to start thinking before they speak.
I doubt they will. When things happen with Republicans, Foley and Craig as just two examples, we step up, criticize, demand action.
When it happens with Democratic politicians, they hide, excuse, explain but never do the honorable thing and demand accountability.
Big difference there.

Nope, there won't be many comments from the other side of the coin on this, just as it's not front page news. It only made the headlines when they were assumed gulity. And a senator only makes the headlines when it involves lying about sex.

Based on information 9-7-07 7-8:00AM EDT Jim Quinn, Quinn&Rose, 104.7FM Pittsburgh. 3 of the 4 Haditha Marines have been exonerated (the 4th is awaiting exoneration), however the Secretary of the Navy has now disciplined 3 Marine Colonels without trial, so that these men may have to retire early @ lower rank when there has been no wrong proven.
The Marines were allowed only one hour of the eight hours of video footage showing their action so that true context could not be construed and addressed; a perjured "deal" witness was used against them and his testimony was proven false; their military attorney was forbidden to assign mulitiple counsel while Camp Gitmo terrorists receive multiple advocates. The prime movers in this are John Murtha, the Secretary of the Navy, and the Adjutant General of the Navy. The obstruction of justice, evidence tampering, witness tampering, and refusal of representation are treason against the United States of America, and it's about time that someone says that the Emporer has no clothes.
I pay Murtha, the Secretary of the Navy, the Adjutant General of the Navy, and these Marines to conduct themselves with honor and do their work diligently to the best of their abilities; so far, the Marines have been the only ones to do their jobs properly.
When these seven Marines decide on civil contingency suit against the stooges, I will make $ contribution toward filing fees, and if you or someone you know would like to contribute a few dollars, (this found today, 10-2-07) USMC SSG Frank D. Wuterich's mailing address is: 637 Parker Road, Oceanside, CA 92054; I researched this from his Federal libel suit against John Murtha. I hope the Sergeant succeeds. I also hope that USMC Col. Jeffery Chessani follows up & sues Murtha's sock off; I am ashamed that this "representative" is from my state.
Thanks to General Petreaus for his report, for progress amid myriad difficulties, and for holding off a subsequent 9-11 attack; thanks to all our Armed Forces and our Marines for making us the land of the free because of the brave. Semper Fidelis; that they are.
