If Clinton were the candidate (and she should be), why do you think the candidate for president -- actually any candidate for president -- would "go head to head" with the vice presidential candidate from the opposing party. This statement doesn't make any sense. Even now, Senator Clinton is so far ahead -- intellectually, politically, experience, etc, why would she bother with Sarah at all????

The intent of the rally was non-partisan and therefore there would have been no Hillary-Palin clash. That's all media wet-dream. The reason Hillary declined is she did not want to be placed in a public situation where she could not address Palin in a partisan fashion. The kool-ade drinker's would have turned themselves inside out if they saw Hillary and Palin on the same side of an issue.
Yes, this hurts the Democrats and it hurts Hillary. Hillary figures time will heal. I guess only time will tell. As a Hillary supporter voting for McCain/Palin all I can say is I'm disappointed Hillary. I thought better of you.

None of this makes sense. I tend to go with the theory that Obama told her to cancel. It fits right in with his other stupid moves. He sent his regrets to Bill Clinton's conference next week that includes Kings, Queens and leaders from all over the world.
McCain and Obama were both invited - McCain will attend, Obama couldn't work it into his schedule and will address the conference by satellite sermon.

My reaction when I first heard the news was the last thing Obama would want is photos of Clinton and Palin together. It would be a reminder of what could have been, and I think he is not emotionally mature enough to let that happen. Unfortunately it is Clinton who once again takes the hit. NY is her base - she should have been there. Very sad.
I think the whole ordeal just drives home what we all already know and that is that MCCAIN/PALIN do put COUNTRY FIRST! It also proves they were not just talking when they said they would cross party lines for the good of our country! Obama probably did not want anyone at the rally so as not to offend his PLO buddy that invited that Iranian fruitcake last time!

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.
There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.
Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the 'health problem' cited in those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.
However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.
So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass - send this info out to as many people as you can - post about it on websites and blogs - etc.
k.meeks, I heard something about that some weeks ago. Biden has had aneurysms, and someone said he slurred speech at an event. I wondered if it wasn't a set-up for health problems of some sort. Brain issues seem to be the Dx du jour. Biden's turn to go under the bus. Should be an interesting crowd there.
